If your machine ran out of battery power from not charging and the car will run with a fresh or charged battery, then check the alternator fuse on the positive battery clamp. If it is blown then even though your charging system is in perfect working order, your battery will go dead and your car will die in the middle of the road. If blown by the fuse at a dealer, replace it and charge your battery.

Lifters rattling and engine oil light is on? 1998 ford taurus...lost!

I agree with Ray Gallant. Also, you might need to change oil and filter. Dirty oil will cause the lifters to shake, rattle and roll. Or the wrong weight of oil - especially in cold weather.

Location of a sensor

Replacing a CPS can be easy or hard. On the 2002 Gallant 2.4, it is located behind the timing belts. Removal of the main pulley, the covers and the belts is required. This isn't as hard as it sounds and is essentially the same as changing the timing belts.

Belts replacement for Mitsubishi gallant (1997)

Is your engine a 4 or 6 cylinder? Air conditioning or no? Either way, a power steering belt at Auto Zone will run you from $7.99 to $12.99. If replacing that does not help, it may be your pump.
HOWEVER, before anything else, PLEASE CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL IN THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR. It may be low. If so, just add fluid to the correct level.:)
