hi there, my Toyota Prius 1999 hybrid car shows tortoise sign after running on highway, and the screen shows low charge/almost empty( empty yellow color battery ), then it starts charging again and back to normal charging level and become green, I come across this when I drive on motorway or after finishing high speed zone. can anyone explain it?
you should have 2 hi 4 low 4 hi and nuetral on your transfer case 4 hi would be anything up to 35-40mph or lower 4 low is almost never used it just gears down your t case if your climbing a hill or super stuck the manual locing hubs are extremely reliable do not have them locked on dry pavement or concrete just loose dirt snow ice ect put the tranny gear shifter in nuetral to put your t case in 4 low
i've never heard of that switch. park, reverse nuetral drive and low. may be the nuetral saftey switch they are talking about. it's usually right by the transmission where the shifting cable connects.
hi all reno gear box hav a problem with the dif bearing and dont last long . oil dont seam to help them they are just poor quility . volvo gear box are the same in most models but dont suffer as much dont no why this is , same disigne but difrent place of build may ba . you are lucky tho as i have known them to lock up at 70mph. a gear box centre will charge you about 230 pounds to rapair it or a scrap yard will sell one for about 60 to 100 pound.hope this helps
it will be very noticeable in low range verse high range has a big gear reduction so you would notice truck very jumpy and revving high when taking off. if you are having problems getting out of low have vehicle in nuetral when switching sometimes helps if truck is rolling just a little so when you are going about 5mph shift into nuetral and let truck roll flip it into high range will usually hear a clunk from shaft when it shifts
