SOURCE: Replacing water pump in 98 Lex GS300

Removal of the crankshaft front pulley/damper can be removed without any damage being caused to the cam belt.
They are a good fit on the shaft, I personaly use a lead tup, weighs 2lbs and will not damage anything if used properly.
Tap equaly all the way round the pulley, that should be ok.

SOURCE: 89 jeep cherokee powersteering leak

Put a clean piece of cardboard, thin plywood, or whatever, under front tires, large enough to cover area under vehicle from front bumper to just behind front wheels. Start it with power steering full & crank wheels back & forth a few times. Monitor for drops of fluid on surface, to isolate problem area. may need to sit all night. Or take it in to shop, have them put on hoist & diagnose.

SOURCE: how do i remove the Powersteering pump in my 1998

Replace the ps pump, brake fluid is not a lubricant, your pump is scored, raise the van, block it, remove the sheild, belt and right axle, and remove the pump, you will have to flush the system with 4-5 litres of PS fliud only. GOOD LUCK, RDJRP

Testimonial: "thanks for the feedback, I figured the pump is gone , so it is not worth the efforts to seal eery detail"

Severe powersteering leak. can I drive with bad leak or no fluid?

if its a slow leak yes. but if its squeeling I wouldn't. My 98 nissan could hold the fluid for about two weeks. could be as simple as tightnening a hose.

Power Steering fluid leaking 1997 Toyota Camry Leaks all the time Put more fluid in.

Bad lines or bad pump. if it's not a bad leak, try some stop leak additive and add fluid when needed. If it's bad, you need to replace what's leaking before your spend the repair cost in powersteering fluid. lines are relatively cheap and i would replace them before you run out of fluid and burn the pump up.

Check your brake fluid reservoir if you are low. Other than that, the only parts with fluid are the shocks.
