SOURCE: upstream oxy. sensor signal wire, what color is it?

In my 1990-1995 manual it is Black/Dark Green.

Dark green/orange is 12 V supply, Black is ground, Black/Light Blue also comes from the powertrain control module but is common to many other sensors.

SOURCE: restricted performance under load

I had the same problem on my 1998 XJ8. My dealer told me it was the Mass Airflow Meter, which needed replacing to the tune of around $500. After a second opinion at my local Jag mechanic, it turned out to be a hose that was broken on the lower part of the front of the engine. Check the vacuum hoses for breaks or loose fittings.

SOURCE: check engine light is on,display says restricted performance

Anything can cause the check engine light to go on from a loose gas cap, to a transmission issue. When the onboard computer detects an issue, it will restrict performance so as to not damage the engine any further. An Oil change won't affect this light. The only way to determine the cause of the light is to have the computer scanned with an OBD-II tool (Autozone does this for free) to determine the codes and cause for the light. You can also clear the light with the OBD-II tool, but if the problem is still there, the light will just come back on

SOURCE: cylinder 8 misfire, restricted performance is also coming on

you may have to replace the cowl pack itself that sit on top of the spark plug and sometimes you can get by just changing the boot wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Hi I have a 2007 Suzuki xl7 and is running when idlinidling and give me a code P0300 any idea why?

wow no engine stated in an engine post.

2.5/2.7 and my guess, 3.6 liter, 252 hp (188 kW) V6 ????

sure, that is random misfire. there vast causes,

each misfire is dejected by weak power from 1 or more cylinders.

in this case, many.

we find them by doing tests. with real tools. and meters.

in physics its just about 3. compression, spark or fueling bad.

300s means that all or most cylinders are misfiring, .

  1. never getting a tuneup is top reason now for 100 years. endless story of folks not doing service. for sure at 60k miles.

  2. bad spark. (opps see #1 )

  3. lean or too rich air /fueling ratios. flooding or bogging lean , you never stated driving issues, hows it drive?????

  4. EGR stuck open.,

  5. CEL LAMP stuck on ,driver ignoring it?

  6. Scan tool attached, and the mech fails to see lots of DTC errors, not just P0300.s ?

  7. bad oxy sensor, in such a way that cause, #3

  8. bad MAF sensor, not dead, just weak. or just needs cleaning.

  9. Any illegal air leaks to this engine will cause lean outs.

so any mech would use his scan tool and look and PIDs

live data.

is engine getting to 180F OR MORE and holds,(ECT PID)

is engine in closed loop at idle, yes/no,

if no, fix that first.

ok yes,

is LTFT near 0, or most run about -5% is it?

if LTFT is way off, or the car has over 100k miles, try 2 new oxygen sensors B1-S1 and B2, S1, to 2 top sensors, in gringo talk.

or in tech talk, both upstream sensors

my guess is its not the 02 oxy sensors. but is

A/F wrong

or bad spark

and #1 all time hit , is never ever tuned up..not in 7 long years.

Why am i getting engine code p0421 on this 2002 mitsubishi lancer?

this code is lazy cat (or weak or dead)420's are very hard to diagnose
here is the order.
1: NO EXHAUST leaks near any oxy sensor. zero, (cracks, or gaskets) any where near or upstream of any oxy sensor.!!!
2: Engine runs perfectly CEL out running and no stored or live DTCS (besides 421) and engine holds closed loop at hot idle and light flat cruise, steady right foot, if not , the CAT gets punished.
3: good front oxz sensors, a mUST.
4: AND 2nd last , new rear cat sensors (421s come from this sensor)
5: a NEW cat.

that is the crash course, can do 100s pages.
but no. just 1.

Lambda oxy sensor def. Will Denso work

Yes, the Denso Mfr #: 234-4209 O2 sensor is a universal 4 wire pre cat sensor that will work in your vehicle. Bosch also makes an exact fit sensor, #15606 for the upstream & 15607 for downstream.

I HAVE A 95 CRYSLER CONCORDE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WE DIAGNOSED IT IT SAID THE UPSTREAM 02 SENSOR, WE REPLACED THAT, EGR VALVE, FUEL FILTER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL COMES ON, WE DRIVE IT AND...

Check for a restricted CAT, usually it will glow red. A restricted muffler can also create a similar symptom. One way to test, is to disconnect the exhaust forward of the cat and see if it performs the same. Be careful you don't break off bolts. Be carefull you aren't creating a fire hazard.

Jaguar s-type restricted performance

I had the same problem. Restricted performance and running rough at 3000 RPM. I have an OBDII code reader and found that the problem was in the air mass flow sensor, which is just after the air filter. I pulled this out and found it was dirty and had butterfly wings in it. The last shop where I had the oil changed replaced the filter for me but put in the wrong size. Close but no cigar. Bought some *** Flow Sensor cleaner at auto store and fixed the problem. Get an OBDII reader with the ability to erase the codes. Comes in real handy.

Stutters when driving under pressure

check the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors, the common problem with this car is the crank sensor, located on the gearbox, behind the engine, did the home tune carryout a computer diagnostic, if not get one done asap, it will save u money and time.

No spark

This indicates that a problem was detected in the camshaft position sensor. Replace the sensor itself.
