2001 Toyota Echo Wheel Bolt Torque?

Anyone know the factory spec for the wheel bolt torque? Closest I could find was for a Corolla, at 76 ft-lb. Thanks.

Commonly Asked Torque Specs in foot pounds
The main bolts have a torque of 76 lb.-feet and the cylinder head bolts have 62 lb.-feet of torque. The cylinder head studs have 70 foot-lbs of torque, the cam timing gear have lb.-feet of torque, and the cam bearing bolt has 14 lb.-feet of torque.

Crankshaft Torque Specs
  • The stock rod bolts have 46 lb.-feet of torque and the ARP rod bolts have 50 lb.-feet of torque. The crankshaft pulley has 116 lb.-feet of torque, while the flywheel has 80 lb.-feet of torque.


Other Torque Specs
  • The intake manifold and exhaust manifold have 33 lb.-feet of torque each and the oil pan bolts have 9 lb.-feet of torque. The cam timing gear has 58 lb.-feet of torque and the cam bearing bolt has 14 lb.-feet of torque. One set of timing cover bolts have 9 lb.-feet of torque and another set has 29 lb.-feet of torque

cylinder head the torque is : step 1 55 ft-lb, step 2 65 ft-lb, step 3 85 ft-lb. Rocker arm stud nut or bolt is 17 to 23 ft-lb. and valve cover bolt 72 to 108 in-lb.

This should do the trick, torque to specs then additional 90 degrees turn on all bolts

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.


  • Use the following sequence in order to tighten the cylinder head bolts: Tighten
    1. Tighten bolt 1 to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
    2. Tighten bolt 2 to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    3. Tighten bolt 3 to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    4. Tighten bolt 4 to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
    5. Tighten bolt 5 to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
    6. Tighten bolt 6 to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    7. Tighten bolt 7 to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    8. Tighten bolt 8 to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
    9. Tighten bolt 9 to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
    10. Tighten bolt 10 (stud bolt) to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    11. Then tighten all bolts an additional 90 degrees

    How to change brake pad and check rotors

    Brake Pads Removal & Installation Front for_car_toy_cam_02-04_sst_frt_dsc_asm.gif

    To Remove:
    1. Drain brake fluid to ½ full level in reservoir.
    2. Remove the front wheels. toy_car_cam_frontbrakepads.gif

    3. Remove the front brake caliper assembly.
    4. Remove the 2 anti-squeal shims from each of the 2 brake pads.
    5. Remove the wear indicator from each of the 2 brake pads.
    To Install:
    NOTE: When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.

    1. Using a large C clamp or equivalent press piston into the caliper.
    2. Apply disc brake grease to the inside of each anti-squeal shim.
    3. Install the anti-squeal shims on each pad.
    4. Install the pad wear indicator clip to the pads.
    5. Install the pads with the pad wear indicator plate facing upward.
    6. Install the brake caliper with the 2 mounting bolts. Torque the bolts 25 ft-lb (34 Nm).
    7. Install the front wheels.
    8. Fill the master cylinder with new clean brake fluid.
    9. Pump the brake pedal several times to seat the brake pads.

    To Remove:

    3. Remove the caliper slide pins.
    4. Remove the caliper slide pin bushings (TMMK made) (Kentucky).
    5. Remove the rear brake calipers.
    6. Remove the 2 brake pads with the anti-squeal shims.
    7. Remove the anti-squeal shims and pad wear indicators from brake pads.
    To Install:
    1. Using a large C clamp or equivalent press the piston into the caliper.
    2. Coat both sides of the outer anti-squeal shim with pad grease.
    3. Install anti-squeal shims to each pad.
    4. Install wear indicators on the 2 brake pads.
    5. Install the caliper slide pin bushings (TMMK made) (Kentucky).
    6. Install the rear brake caliper with the slide pins. Torque the slide pins as follows:
      • TMC made (Japan): Torque the caliper slide pin 25 ft-lb (34.3 Nm)
      • TMMK made (Kentucky): Torque the caliper slide pin 34 ft-lb (47 Nm)
    7. Fill the master cylinder with new clean brake fluid.
    8. Pump the brake pedal several times to seat the brake pads.
    9. Install the rear wheels.

    1. Remove the front wheels.
    2. Remove the front brake caliper assembly.
    3. Remove the front brake pads.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and caliper mounting bracket.
    5. Place match marks on the disc and axle hub.
    6. Remove the front wheel disc.
    To Install:
    1. Align the match marks and install the front disc.
    2. Install the brake caliper mounting bracket. Torque the bolts 79 ft-lb (107 Nm).
    3. Install the brake caliper. Torque the bolts 25 ft-lb (34 Nm).
    4. Install new gaskets and connect the brake hose to the caliper with the banjo fitting bolt. Torque the fitting bolt 22 ft-lb (29.4 Nm).
    5. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid.
    6. Bleed the brake system.
    7. Install the front wheel.
    Rear To Remove:
    1. Remove the rear wheels.
    2. Remove the brake caliper assembly.
    3. Remove the brake pads.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and the caliper mounting bracket.
    5. Place match marks on the disc and axle hub.
    6. Remove the rear disc.
    To Install:
    1. Align the match marks and install the rear disc.
    2. Install the rear brake caliper mounting bracket. Torque the bracket bolts as follows:
      • TMC made (Japan): Torque the bracket bolt 46 ft-lb (61.8 Nm)
      • TMMK made (Kentucky): Torque the bracket bolt 34 ft-lb (47 Nm)
    3. Install the rear brake caliper with the slide pins. Torque the slide pins as follows:
      • TMC made (Japan): Torque the caliper slide pin 25 ft-lb (34.3 Nm)
      • TMMK made (Kentucky): Torque the caliper slide pin 32 ft-lb (43 Nm)
    4. Install new gaskets and connect the brake hose to the caliper with the banjo fitting bolt. Torque the fitting bolt 22 ft-lb (29.4 Nm).
    5. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid.
    6. Bleed the brake system.
    7. Install the rear wheel
