You need to retrieve the CEL code(s) to determine cause. Most well known big box auto parts stores with do this free of charge.

Sounds like you need new engine mounts

It could be the O2 sensor. Connect the diagnosis tool and check the codes to better understand the problem.

-Check for misefire.

you problaby have a missfire, you need to check it out soon or it will have some damage on your catalyctic converter

you don`t say if you have checked anything so start with the plugs for condition and age as well as plug gap.then the ignition wires they may need changing.the engine compression can affect idle and give the impression its alright at higher speeds.fuel injectors if they are dirty can cause rough idle and run okay at higher speeds.just somethings to check

• does the engine miss? bumps is a rythmic pattern?
• an engine miss will appear to diminish at higher rpm due to centrifical force.
• other possible problem broken or flat motor mount.
• is the idle rough in reverse?
• if not
• open hood
• start engine
• Left foot on brake (hard)
• start engine
• watch engine as you select drive
• still holding brake with left foot / throttle gas with right foot
• does engine dramatically move?
• if so replace motor mount on offending side
• if not possible engine miss or transmission problems

Check and see if the EGR valve is leaking, to check this spray water on it at idle, if the water steams off the valve is leaking and is the source of your problem, also are you sure you hooked the new DPFE sensor up right? re-check it..

your probably feeling a rough idle of the engine. need a tune up?

in park the engine is not loaded down, just idling at a low rpm=rough
in drive with brake on you have put some load on motor also at low rpm=rough
in drive on the road engine is at higher rpm, = smoother

generally 4 cylinder motors idle a bit rough, especially if one spark plug is not firing right or fouled or one bad spark plug wire. tune up may fix it. if it is not stumbling real bad or stalling then you can live with it.
