If you haven't already had the code cleared, get it cleared at AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts. You could also probably disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes and then restore power and see if the code is still there. If it is still there, you will need to have it cleared with a code scanner.

Since it's only cylinder 4 misfiring, I can't imagine your Ignition control module is the culprit, but it could be possible. When not replaced, vehicle could experience no- or hard start, long crank time, misfire, lack of power, inconsistent transmission shift points, spark plug fouling, catalytic converter failure, poor fuel economy or CEL/MIL illumination.

You might also want to check the compression in the cylinder 4 if the code continues to reappear after having it cleared.

I have a 2000 ford windstar 3.8 im having truble with cylinder#5 it has a new spark plug and a new fuel injector

Is it a plug wire or coil on plug system? More than likely it is a plug wire or a boot for coil on plug. If the latter you should replace all at the same time. Same applies for plug wires if over 60,000 miles. Buy the expensive ones, if you don't you will regret it in 15 to 20 thousand miles.

We have a 2001 ford windstar with a 3.8, it started running rough and then the check engine light started flashing, we stopped driving it, pulled the codes and it was a p0303, we replaced the spark plug...

It's common for ignition coils to go on these vehicles. If you have a spark tester (auto parts store) install it on your #3 plug wire and check for a strong spark. By swapping the wire you obviously eliminated it as a possibility. There's always a chance that you have a compression problem or ad injector problem but chances are it's just a bad ignition coil. Mark the wires then remove them. You can remove the coil without accessing major components but it will be tight. Disconnect the connector and remove the bolts.

If not, look at the coil for hairline cracks. I see a lot of coils go bad and the vehicle will run worse when it's damp or raining out. Good luck!

Van has a miss at idle. Check engine light is on and the trouble code was misfire on cylinder #2. Replaced wires, plugs and coil and still same problem. Remove intake and cleaned inside and the port area...

The fuel injector will be the problem. Add a injector cleaner such as Gunout and drive it fo 50 miles on the highway. If that does not clean it the injector needs a replacement

Engine light on my 1999 windstar is blinking

the windstars are very bad for cracked ignition coils, to check you have to remove the coil, remove spark plug wires from coil, disconnect main harness from coil and remove the 3 7mm bolts that hold it in place, once it is out inspect it for cracks, if it is the coil expect to pay around $105 for a new one from your Ford dealer
