    8 6 2 4 10
    9 3 1 5 7

The numbers represent the bolt positions and sequence for tightening the bolts. Number one should be the bolt in the middle of the head closest to the radiator. Start at 1 and follow the sequence. First torque setting should be 22 ft/lbs. Torque all the bolted in order 1-10 at 22 ft/lbs and once completed start at number 1 and torque at 53 ft/lbs in order 1-10. That should be all she wrote. Any questions let me know. I posted this in the event you didn't get the emails I sent. Good luck
    William

The sequence should look like this:
    8, 6, 2, 4, 10
    9, 3, 1, 5, 7,

This page won't let me post it the way I want it to lol anyway if your standing in front of your cat facing the motor. Number 8 bolt should be the rear passenger side bolt number 7 bolt is the front driver side bolt number 9 is the front passenger bolt number 10 is rear driver side bolt. You should be able to figure the rest out. Hope this helps

2002 Honda Civic EX 1.7. Most common issue with it.

The origin of the leak may be oil spilled form the Valve cover gasket job. With a warm, not hot engine, spray with degreaser and hose off the oil and cleaner. Leave to dry. Run car for a couple of days and check again.

Yes replacing the gasket should fix it as long as it isn't warped. Civics tend to get thrashed by young drivers, so you may need to get the head skimmed at a machine shop.

I have a 1995 honda civc ex V-Tec. And I'm geting water on my spark plugs. is that a blown head gasget, or a craked block or head. there is no water in the oil. thats fine. one's I get it started...

If there is water on 2 adjacent plugs, there's a good chance that it's a blown head gasket. Check the compression and if 2 adjacent cylinders have low compression, that would be another indicator of a bad head gasket. Unfortunately, you wont know for certain until it is disassembled.

I have a 90 civic ex 1.6 and it was mixing water in oil and blowing antifreeze out the exhaust when i got it. pulled head and the gassket was blown. replaced it and the problem remained the same. replaced...

To check the block, you can magna flux it or have the machine shop do this for you. Also, was the head a new or used head or reconditioned? Is it warped and in need of shaving?

Perhaps, the new head gasket is leaking, even though it has been replaced.
I know it's a lot of work to get the Honda head gaskets to work right.

96 honda civic ex runs hot

It is either a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Depending on which motor your civic has, this could be a tricky replacement, either way, you have to remove the head off of the motor, and then take the head to have it pressure checked to see if there is a crack in it. Nine times out of ten though, you can see a crack in the head with your eye, but you have to have the right "eye" to be able to see the crack.
