Battery dead. how can I get trunk open.

Victoria, Fold down rear seat back, to access trunk space. Your vehicle is equipped with a release handle that provides a means of escape for children and adults if they become locked inside the trunk/luggage compartment. The handle is located inside the trunk/luggage compartment either on the luggage compartment door (lid) or near the tail lamps. It is composed of a material that will glow for hours in darkness following brief exposure to ambient light.
Pull the handle and push up on the luggage compartment door (lid) to open from within the luggage compartment.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Why don't the interior light go off after all doors are locked

Door switch may be bad

Does the radio go off when you open
the front doors

You have to remove the bulb or a fuse or
you will kill the battery until you figure it out

I have a 2003 ford tauraus and when i start the car my interior light stays on and the door ajar pops on with all the doors closed and car running and then it does it after i get out the car it goes out...

That is because the switch is faulty and is not operating when the door is closed.

Hence the interior light stays on(unless you switch it off manually) and the warning system thinks the door is still open because the switch has not been activated and therefore the open door warning appears.

Hence you need to have the door operated switch replaced.

Show what fuses goes where on 2001 taurus

Hi,

The first place to start is the Ford 2001 Owner's Manual.

You can get a .pdf version of the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner's Manual at: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2001&make=Ford&model=Taurus

It has instructions and guides for finding and replacing the fuses in a 2001 Ford Taurus. It starts on page 146-147.

Always use the specific Owner's Manual for the correct Model Year of a Ford or Mercury vehicle. I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus, and had thought that I could use the Owner's Manual from a 1999 Mercury Sable from a friend. BUT, I figured out that each model year can be very different (before any serious damage happened.)

Good luck,

JB

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES and the inter door lights will not turn on. (Red door lights) I have check the fuses and everything sames to be OK. Whats next.

the interior light may have a switch on it so as you can select OFF (light wont come on at all) or DOOR (only comes on when a door is opened) or ON ( stays on until it is is switched off) I'm not sure if your light has this option but check to make sure, alternately the bulb may be blown.....hope this helps......cheers.

I need a schematic for the fuse box on a 2001 Ford Taurus. The cruise control quit and I need to know what fuse is the possible culprit. What amp fuse is it?

Check for the fuse and relay diagrams in the owners manual in the glove
box.If you don't have it,I'd suggest picking up a Chilton's Manual,at any
parts store. Good luck.

Turn off the interior lights in 04 Excursion w/ back doors open?

If you wait long enough, the lights will turn off by themselves. Or if you turn the ignition back to accessories setting (ACC) and the radio should stay on and the interior lights should go off. Let me know at FixYa if I can be of further assistance. Thank you.
