If it is the 1.6 FSI model, it is very sensitive to the type of gasoline, it should be octane 97 or higher. Very commonly, owners of this model use the 95 Octane gasoline, which seems to work ok, but the sensors in the exhaust (yellow motorwarning light) will eventually (can take a few years) clog up and you cant clean it or change the sensor easy either as you need to remove the whole exhaust system.
So either you let VW fix this for you (expensive) or you do it yourself (need a decent garage, equipment and a new sensor).
the FSI engine is a direct injection engine and they can be noisy particulaly on idle ,if you have no other issues like warning lights lack of power and its always been like it then i sugest it is the nature of the beast .this is not ******** i am a vw master tech and have had many a conversation with customers about noisy FSI engines.hope this puts your mind at rest, alternativly go to VW dealer and get them to take a listen to confirm its normal.cheers
the most common problem is you havn,t shut the tailgate properlly.you may have it on just the first latch in wich case the rear wiper wont work.give the tailgate a good slam to make sure its shut.
What warning lights came on. Be more specific.
