SOURCE: cranks but won't start sometimes.
From what i've seen over the years with the Chryslers i've encountered. Your describing to the "T" what appears to be a bad Crank Sensor. I will bet money that if you replace the crank sensor it will solve your problem. BUT...Also know that a bad fuel pump can do exactly what you describe in your statement. Once the pump get hot it gets to acting stupid, but yet again so can the Crank Sensor. Still, my money is on the Crank Sensor.
SOURCE: cranks over but won't start
Don't no if i can solve your problem but can you hear the fuel pump work for about 3 sec.s after you turn the ign. key on. If so then you should be getting fuel. If not you may have a blowed fuse or bad fuel relay. Sometimes its worth the cost to replace pump, relay , fuel filter , when the pump goes out. I had a truck that burnt up two fuel pumps before i done this. If your getting fuel, be careful not to miss up a plug wire but pull one off and put a old plug on it, lay it on or ground it to metal of the car, not close to something that will start a fire and have someone turn the motor over and you watch to see if it sparks. If it sparks I don't no anything else besides jumped time. Try this at your on risk but its just a few simple things to try. From one person with auto problems to another
SOURCE: Cranks strongly, but won't turn over / start.
it might be the fuel pump take the output hose off of it and crank the engine and see if fuel comes out of the pump if it does the fuel pump is not the probelem. if it doesnt come out or if it slowly comes out than you need a new fuel pump
