On my 2003 chevy suburban the right brake light does not work. Tried replacing the bulb. Didn't work. Took it to my mechanic and he tried the brake pedal switch and it didn't fix it. He also tried to tracee the wire back to the light socket but was not able to. Any suggestions?

With a multi meter,, place the positive lead into the socket while a friend pushes on the brake,, the neg lead should be grounded to the bulb holder, if you get power your light bulb is either shot or its not grounded correctly in the holder, if you get no power, you have a loose or broken wire in the system, and all you can do is back track it

If it didnt trace back it could very well be that there is a break in the wire .

I need a wiring diagram for a 98 chevy suburban. My brake lights don't work. Checked fuse bulbs and brack light switch.

above the steering column there is a 6 way plug, it is an actual jumper harness to the brake switch it is held in place by a rosebud, pop the rosebud out and check the plug for being fully seated, I have seen many of these that have been partially pulled apart and it actually breaks the circuit/and can short it out, other than that if thats o.k. then your turn signal switch in column is defective.

Left rear turn signal and brake light not working. fuse is good, bulb is good. back-up lights work.

I have a 2007 Chevy Express with the same problem. Just happened. Brake and turn signal not working on left side. Fuses good, bulbs good (dual element lamp, turn signal and break are same element) running lights work (other element) Relay blinks fast and not getting voltage at light for blinker or brake. Is there something else in the circuit I need to check. Took it to an ASE mechanic and he couldn't or didn't want to fix it. THANKS Let you know if I fix it tomorrow.

check to make sure that you have the correct bulb in the correct socket in both left and right tail lights. dual filament bulbs have to contacts on the base of the bottom of the bulb. make sure the socket that you are inserting them into also has two contacts. if that doesn't work then you need to get a test light so you can find out if power is going to the bulb housing and all ground. check all fuses also with amp meter

Parking break light is on & Chimming When P. Break is released

On your parking brake assembly is a single wire switch. You can unplug it, but you will have to remember not to drive with it set. To replace the switch the whole assembly will have to come out. The switch is about $20 and labor should run about two hours. Good Luck

98 Suburban Brake and hazard lights don't work

Check for power and ground at the two panel lights. GM uses a cheep circuit board design, they overheat and corrode on the other side of the board. not serviceable.
