Open your owners manual, it is in the glove box. turn to the index and look up "fuse". it will direct you to the location of the fuse panel, will also most likely have a legend telling you what is what. in any event the fuse panel will most likely have a snap open cover which has a legend on the inside. look at the legend, it will tell you what fuse is for the airbag. pull that fuse out and disable the bag.

It's almost always a loose or corroded connection under the airbag. It's a bit tricky to undo the connectors if you've never done one before. They are locking, tamper-proof connectors, so be patient and think before you damage the connectors. Use a tiny amount of contact cleaner, plug and unplug several times, and reassemble. The circuit will work perfectly now.
When the Airbag light (SRS waring) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the Airbag system. The most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted Airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airbag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the Airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1/2 hour prior.
