I would expect to find a main wiring connector has some serious corrosion in it. The fuses for those circuits would be in the fuse box in the engine compartment. You could try running power direct to the driver's door switch to make the windows come down. Make sure you have a fuse or breaker in the line.
I wouldn't ruin anything by trying things yourself
I would have a dealer check it out
The dealer I used in the past, has a seat specialist come in on Wed only, around 5:30 after the service bays close & one service writer hangs out until that person fixes a couple vehicles seat issues
rear oil seal if your not into mechanics you should take vehicle to a repair shop not that simple transmission has to be unbolted from engine remove flywheel etc. big job for some ppl. as far as the window goes sounds like a bad switch
All three wire showing 3 it should be all 4 wires, In the back of the rear seat is the convertable top module, the yelloow black wire should go ground to bring it down.Other than that a new module will be needed, this gets its command from the window main switch so see if yellow/black wire switches over
your window is driven using a cable drive system. kinda like bicycle brake & gearshift cables.
these systems are prone to break. i just wonder why it made noise for so long without breaking.
what you probably need is a window regulator assy.. napa sells them for $191.00 with a new
motor. the hardest part of doing the job is getting the door pannel off without breaking anything
I have a similar problem with the same window. The window doesn't stop moving but it tilts forward until it won't close properly leaving a 1 inch gap between the top left corner of the window and the door frame from the perspective of sitting in the drivers seat. I had the motor and regulator replaced but to no avail. I took off the door panel, everything looked fine. Took off all the weather strips and the driver side mirror. Behind the mirror there is the top portion of the metal guide the edge of the window rides up and down. it was partially cracked and bulged out beneath the crack. I gently pounded it back in and cleaned out the guides on both sides with window cleaner and WD-40. The issue will not be completely fixed until I replace the metal guide but it runs much smoother now.
I've been messing with the stereo and took the seats out to check the amp. I don't think I disconnected the negative cable on the battery and now the windows won't do anything and the top won't go up or down. What did I screw up?
