SOURCE: seat belt indicator

look under the drivers seat there is a plug that may be unplugged or broken this is what tells the light to stay on plug it in or try unplugging it and see what happens, on some of the 200 and up models the seat belt light may have some affect on airbags working properly, I have not found this to be the case on 97 model.

SOURCE: Will a 1998 jeep 4L 2.5 motor work in a 1991 jeep wrangler?

Most likely yes. One thing about the older Jeeps is that they did not change the models much from year to year. If the two jeeps had the same engine, they are probably nearly 100% interchangeable.

SOURCE: "maintenance required" light is stuck on in 1991 Jeep Wrangler

On the dim dashlights, there is usually a rotory switch that you can turn to increase the power to the dash lights. In earlier vehicles it was part of the headlight switch and you just turned it one way or the other to adjust the brightness. In newer vehicles it is a switch like a knob sticking out of the dash on its side that you push up or down to change the brightness of the lamps.

The Maintenance Required light is probable on because the vehicle has hit the 50,000 mile mark and it comes on automatically so that you take the vehicle in for maint. of the emission system. If this is the case there is usually a way to reset it untill another 50,000 miles go by. I would read the owners manual, or better yet pickup a Chilton manual for the vehicle and see if it says how to reset the light. You also may want to have the vehicle checked to see if any trouble codes have been signaled. Good Luck, RAC

SOURCE: 1991 jeep wrangler clutch

U have what is called a hydraulic clutch, one of the hydraulic cylinders hs failed, there is a master and a slave cylinder. The most likely and most common cylinder to fail is the slave cylinder, this requires the transmission to be pulled out to replace it. the art is around $125.00, while the trans is out u might as well replace the clutch, the labor is about the same. Here is a picture of the part, let me know if u can see it.

How do i change my signal switch in my 1993 mazda 929

Hi Shannon, befor you dive in and replace the indicator switch I would suggest you check the flasher unit. To replace the indicator switch you will need to remove the steering wheel (this usually means using a puller) Don't forget to punch match marks on the steering wheel and the column which must be aligned when assembling. Remove the steering wheel center cover. then the covers on the steering column Removed the screws (usually four) holding the stalk switch. don't forget to disconnect the battery and the wiring connection to the stalk switch. After replacing the assembly is opposite.to dismantling. Regards John

Infinity gold radio seems to work but cant get any sound

It's really hard to answer a question such as this. There's barely enough information to reach any type of conclusion. What kind of Jeep? Cherokee? Grand Cherokee, Wrangler? Renegade? Liberty? I could just keep going. Maybe it's a Willys 1942? I really don't know. However, based on what little information you've provided I'll give a little answer. Fuse. How's that. No. Wait, if it's an infinity system it has a factory amp. If only I knew which year and model...Hmmm, Cherokee's and Grand Cherokees have them under the back seat. Does yours have a fuse in it? I don't know BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT YEAR AND MODEL IT IS.

Both headlights out on 1997 Jeep Wrangler. Don't see a fuse in the box in the dashboard indicating headlamps. Looked in the engine compartment, but don't know which fuse to check.

There is a fuse box under the hood on the passenger side remove the cover and the #10 fuse is for the headlamps. Look on under side of cover for fuse #s.

My 1993 Trooper's reverse lights don't work. I've checked all the fuses and changed the bulbs out but this was fruitless. Please help.

I had the same Problem with my 1994 Trooper. I was smoking (painting with translucent black paint) my taillights, and when i put the back in, the reverse lights didnt work. In a seemingly unrelated problem, my gearshift indicator strip on the dash would only stay in park. The solution is that there is a sensor that measures gear shift position on the transmission, that relays the power to the reverse lights when reverse is selected. This sensor turned out to be corroded through and the wires surrounding it had corroded from the inside out. I recently got that replaced, and the problem was solved.
