This is some information on the 2,4 liter engine. The Liberty also came out with a 3.4 with a chain not a belt and it has a second chain on it as an idler so I just went with the 2.4 because you didn't mention anything else. These are the biggest I could put on here because Fixya has a size limit as to the pictures I can can put on. Bad enough I had to break it down to 10 different pictures. Anyhow, this is some of what I have. I do have the whole service manual and if you want you can email me and I will send you the entire engine section which would help you more clearly. If you do, make sure you tell me the engine size and what you are needing because i won't remember. Don't worry, it wont cost you any $$$ I don't mind helping. Keep in mind if this is the correct engine that the marks don't quite line up until after the tang is put on for the tension. My email is [email protected]. Here's some of the pictures and instructions for the 2.4. I hope this helsp and good luck.

What role would computer tools play in setting the timming mark of 3.7L Liberty jeep,2002 model

what great question, ROLES.
what are you doing, service,? or troubleshooting? what? new heads?
no context or just curious....???
first off , is this spark timing or cam?
my guess is spark,
and the FSM is clear there, (ever seen a FSM?)
factory service manual or look online at alldata.com
it says, there is no spark timing on DIS engines.
(there are exception on early DIS systems (i have one)
its fixed, the 2 timing sensors cam/ crank are hard fixed.
This allows the ECU to advance the timing and NEVER be wrong.
now the proof.
i log into alldata.com for you.
i click search , spark timing.
and.
"Ignition timing is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). No adjustment is possible."

now the ROLE question, answer , ALL.
the PCM does it ALL. (software/firmware)

Diagram timing of v6 engine of liberty 2001 model

that v6 engine has no timing adjustment. it has a timing chain. so if there is a stretch on chain, it must be replaced according to factory service manual. only thing you need to watch is to mark the position of gears before you remove chain. also timing of ignition is maintained by engine controller. if you need a custom setup you need chip tuning for that.

I need complete timing set marks for a 2002 jeep liberty

You didn't mention which engine size you had. 2.4 or 3.7 liter. I went with the most common for your vehicle and that is the 2.4. As far as timing marks for this engine, you can't just line up and install. The cams need to be off set then as you continue to install the alignment goes in place. It's better if you go through the instructions per the service manual which I posted below for you. If this is to small for you to see or you have the 3.7 liter engine or even if you have any questions or need anymore diagrams, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will do my best to help. Don't worry the diagrams and information won't cost you anything. If this is your engine please pay close attention to the install procedures or you will be off and will need to do it all over again. after you go through and read it you will understand if this is your engine size. I hope this helps and good luck.
