I have a 2008 Cadillac DTS. The A/C is blowing hot air, but the freon pressure is good. Is there a switch/sensor that may need checking/replacing? I work in a dusty environment, and a couple of months ago, I tried to get the cabin filters replaced, but the garage was unable to get a replacement. Is there any connection to the cabin air filter being dirty?

I put a set of gauges on the system. I haven' t seen any codes displayed anywhere other than occasionally I get a "check traction control" message, but I don't get anything when the automatic diagnostic check is done. - Ronnie

NO, the cabin air filter is not causing the problem you are having, it might cause low air flow into the cabin but it can not cause the system not to cool, how do you know the pressure is ok? did you install a set of gauges? also this car is equiped with a climet control computer, and should have a trobble code if the system is not working. have someone like autozone retreve the codes and get back with me and i will look them up and see if i can help you get to the bottom of this problem. you might try having autozone clear the codes after retreving them that might be all you need done to reset the computer.

My A/C is blowing warm air. Someone said to clean the A/C fliter where is it? It's a 97 GMC Sonoma 2.6 L. Two wheel drive.

It does not have one, and if it did it would not make it blow warm air, just less air. Have the freon charge checked in the AC system for proper pressures, would be a good place to start, & check to see if the AC compressor is kicking in. I hope this helps.

My ac was blowing fine and cold until my ac compressor went out. i bought a used ac compressor wit new dryer/accumulater, and orfice tube. i had that for awhile and i replaced it again because the air...

If the car was retro fitted with R134a this was a common problem. There was a low side pressure sensor that needs to be changed. R134a runs different pressures than the r12.. When you go down the road the condenser cools off the system and the pressure drops below the minimum pressure. You need to make sure that the system is fully charged, not just cold to the feel. Both pipes coming out of the firewall need to be the same temp. this makes sure that the evaporator is flooded.
I hope this helped. Re-post if you need more info. Have a nice day and good luck.

My 2008 Ranger's air conditioner only blows hot air. i have already checked the coolant, and its good. the fuses are also fine. what els could it be?

if you don`t hear the a/c compressor cycling properly (or not at all) not constantly on/off/on then the freon level may be low in the system.if it cycles as mentioned above then again the system is low on freon, due to a leak in the system.it could be a bad pressure switch that may need to be replaced.you need to have the system checked at a qaulified shop to find the problem as dash switches rarely go bad.

95 Cadillac seville added 2 cans of freon and unhooked battery cable, still on cold air and car states freon low. How many cans does it need if empty?

2 lbs of freon is all you need if empty, replace your low pressure switches, sit on a thin a/c line running on top of your fire wall from one end to the other, you will need to recover the freon before you can replace these two sensor's. These sensor's are bad that's why it reads on your dash low freon.

A/c not working blows hot air add 134a need help 99 f150 4.2 v6

Before you add freon to measure how much freon is clucht checks if the compressor is activated when you connect the air conditioner if the clucht not activated and have a good pressure in the system looks at low pressure switch that goes in the drier and that very often these are damaged, you also have to check the fuse and relay the compresor. Thanks

99 STS AC is blowing hot air

I had the same problem but it was blowing hot air on the passenger side of the car. I assume you have the dual zone controls that I have as well. The problem is most likely the damper that controls the flow of hot and cold air into the car. The motorized component of the damper is most likely not working and its stuck in the hot air position.

I had mine replaced by a repair shop so I cant tell you how to replace it but it may be something that you can do if you have the time and patience to work on it.

Good luck

My 99 ford f-150 blows only hot air.

The A/C system has a pressure switch will keep the A/C from running if the freon is low. It prevents damage to the A/C compressor from low freon.
My bet is you'll need to recharge the A/C system.
