With radio off hold the 1 and 6 button down and turn radio on .
write down the number that will come up on the radio .
then call the dealer tell them the number and they can give you the your code
code P0401 is an EGR code. which is insufficient EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) flow.it is quite common for people to just replace the EGR valve.

Take your title and registration to a Honda dealership, along with the radio serial and they can give you the code. The reg. and title is to prove you currently own the vehicle.
I chased the same issue with my 99 for about 1-1/2 years. Everytime I took it in, it worked fine for them. They recommended changing many items from the alternator to the fuel pump. I did what they said on my own, but nothing helped. It took me a while to document what I was doing everytime it would stall and giving them the list, only for them to say, "it sounds like the main relay" which they changed for me at no charge. Haven't had a problem in over three years.
Unless you've haven't maxed out the tilt of the wheel, there really isn't anything else that can be done. If your steering wheel isn't tilted up to the highest point it can be set to, try that. If it has, you're pretty much stuck, as there are no other adjustments on it.
