Part nunber hello, i´m Jose from Portugal i have a volvo v40 1.9d of 2001 i have a problem on a rear brake on the side that works the hand brake that uses a ruber seling (retentor in Portuguese i think that the name in english is oil seal) my problem is to identify the part nunber i will post a foto of the part... thanks...

1992 volvo 240 wagon, and rear break repair

rear disk brakes ,easly changed because the hand brake is inside the drum in the disk ,so just push out the pins and then push piston in on one side and renew pad then do the same on the other side of the piston .

Rear wheel freezes up (so far driver side only)

Could be rear brake locking up,cars arent used to going backwards or hand brake sticking on . Would look there first.

Hand brake on volvo 960, 1996 does not hold.

remove the ash tray and holder from rear of praking brake cover.use a screw driver and hammer to tap sleeve to free from adjusting screw, now adjust the cable. hope this helps.

Where is the handbrake adjuster on Volvo 440 please.

Lift your car up, don't remove the wheels, no brakes, no gear. At the inner side of your rear wheels you'll see the brake clipper. There is a dust cap of appr. 1cm diameter, remove this cap and take a INBUS wrench. Turn the inner screw clockwise till the wheel stops. Then turn the screw 1/2 turn back. Do the same on the other side. Don't try the adjust the brake cable inside the car! Thats only used if you change the cable!

Rear brake disc needs replacing

with car on stands use punch to remove pad retaining pins pull out pads can be tight remove 2 calliper retaining bolts move calliper away from disc remove disc retaining bolts remove disc check hand brake shoes and clean look for adjuster between shoes if it has one back it of some models just have hand brake cabel adjustment clean and fit new disc secure adjust hand brake shoes using screw driver through wheel bolt hole clean refit calliper slowley push back calliper pistons fit new pads refit retaining pins do other side pump up brake pedal check and adjust handbrake if neededcheck brake fluid level

2001 v 70 volvo brake light

Hello. Check relay RMI5 in REM unit located in left side rear of cargo area. As you look at it it's to the right of the central electrical connector 5th from bottom. Matt
