have the u joints inspected as sometimes a noise is not coming from the area you might think it is.the noise could be a bad shock on that side or a rear spring bushing or spring problem.have it checked out,its a 95 so chances are you have not changed the shock and its worn out making noise.if it is change both shocks.
Actually, in some cases, the transmission may have a problem shifting only sometimes, if your TPS, VSS, or any solenoid on the transmission is going bad. an intermittent problem could be the case; and sometimes, it's just a loose wire.
I would say if it did not leak before the tow that they definitely did something to it during the tow. They probably hooked a hook around the rear end and tore the brake line. If you have any more questions about this feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.
Have a look at your crank sensor. When it starts to fail, It will cause a jeep to suddenly shut off if it stops sending a signal to the ecu, and it usually starts right back up again.
Sounds like your Jeep was hit pretty hard...hope no one was hurt...the firewall is a part of the main sub frame body...(located under your windshield) Many years ago some shops tried to re-position these by installing a replacement frame "clip"...to much welding...and loss of structural strength caused the insurance industry to deny any attempts to do this anymore...you are also correct...way to expensive to attempt anymore and no guarantees:(
That is known as "the death wobble" for very obvious reasons. You need to install steering dampeners . They look like shocks and they mount between the drag link and the frame. They will cure the problem. Don't delay putting them on your Jeep. Hope this helps.
Mate. There is on the front,a bolt at the bottom of the shocky and some nuts at the top.Take them off and compress the shock and it will come out.At the back, its pretty much the same.Look at your new shocks and you will see what I mean. Its a pretty easy job. When you put it back together use a small amount of rubber grease on each end and tighten them again after about 50 miles of driving.Hope this helps
Unless your Rio is extremely overweight......
5400kgs is nearly 12,000 lbs, your Rio's curb weight is 2365lbs and the frame can't possibly weigh more than a few hundred, unless what you are calling a "frame" is actually a car trailer..... (even then it won't be more than your Sundance can tow).
