The High and low beams are all in the same bulb. You have to reach in behind the light in the engine compartment and undo the retaining collar and pull it out and then pull the bulb assembly out if it separates from the collar. Unplug the bulb and replace it. I usually stop at Walmart and use the little box they have there to find the proper bulb for the vehicle, in most cases they are the less costly of the places you can get the bulbs.

How do I adjust the low beam headlght on a 2006 Sabaru Tribecca B9

I have a similar problem. The adjustment screw adjusts both the high and lof beams. After changing the passenger side low beam, both sides then pointed at the ground. High beams were fine. I adjusted so the low beams are fine but now the high beams point straight up.

In talking with Subaru Service he said there is a "module". He said after changing the bulbs they should point down then auto-adjust back up. That didn't happen. I haven't found anything on such a module. He said it woul be $109 for adjusting the lights OR for the module.

If I find anything more I'll let you know.

How do I replace a left hand side low beam light on a Subaru Tribeca 2008

Inspect/Replace There can be slight variations in procedure from one model to another when replacing headlights. For instance, on some models the turn signal light assembly must be removed before the headlight can be replaced. Overall, however, the procedure does not differ much from the following typical instructions.
Make sure the replacement bulb is the same type and part number as the one that is being replaced.
f19-22.jpg Comparing the old and ther replacement headlamps. To Replace:
  • Remove the headlight bezel retaining screws. Remove the bezel. If necessary, disconnect the turn signal lamp wires.
  • Remove the retaining ring screws from one or both lights.
  • Remove the retaining rings.
  • Remove the light from the housing. Disconnect the wiring connector from the back of the light.
  • Push the wiring connector onto the prongs at the rear of the new light.
  • Place the new light in the headlight housing. Position it so the embossed number in the light lens is on the top.
  • Place the retaining ring over the light and install the retaining ring screws. Tighten them slightly.
  • Check the aim of the headlight and adjust it, if necessary.
  • Install the headlight bezel. Secure it with the retaining screws.
  • Connect the turn signal lamp wiring (if it was disconnected).

Low beams on my Tribeca 2008 burned out frequently (4 times in 5 months). Once both at the same time! Thanks!

replace them again and install with gloves on. Oils in your hands destroys these bulbs prematurely

I have both of my low beam lights out, could you please let me know what the procedure is to replace them?

wait one second, both low beam lights went out at the same time? If so, sounds like something else is wrong, and I'ld suppect the hi/low beam switch. If the car is this new there should be a warranty on it to be replaced.

Trying to change low beam light in subarau tribeca 2008- need to see schematic

Hello SUBY bro, kick me if I'm wrong but imho this should not be that complicated to require a schematic......Below is the reply I posted here on FixYa for another 08 Tribeca owner......Peace

We have an 05 Legacy and I've done this. Tribeca should be the same way: Look through the engine bay2.gif behind the light, you can locate the position by following the wires which actually connect to the bulb assembly. The bulb assembly ought to be removable with a 1/4-1/2 turn and pull motion. Be sure to not touch the replacement bulb with your bare hands. Your Subaru service ought to help you with this and not charge you......

Subaru Tribeca Headlights

The usual reason it would seem the length of use would be shortened is that most Subaru owners leave there lights on every where they go day and night. Really does shorten the time in days but not really the time of being on. Just a thought. Happy trails.

Subaru tribeca 2006 i cannot turn on headlights there are 3 lights on each side of the car, i can turn on the 2 smaller lights but the main headlight only goes on when i turn on flash. any ideas? i bought...

Sounds like the low beam bulbs are burned out, I have heard of a lot of over seas Tribecas having head and tail light problems. I would definitely check those bulbs, that will the cheapest start.
