Indicator working but theres no clicking to say there working mini coooper 2004

Open the FOB and replace the battery. The two halves of the fob come apart and there is a battery that you can replace.

if the clicking noise is from the starter,you can tap the starter while someone tries to start the car.if it turns over and starts then the starter motor will need to be replaced.if you can get to the starter,using the multi-meter you can check to make sure the solenoid is getting battery voltage at the wire that gets voltage when the key is turned.if you do and you have battery voltage at the larger wire on the starter then this will also indicate the stater motor has a bad spot in it and will have to be replaced.the clicking noise is usually an indication that the solenoid is working passing the voltage to the starter armature but the starter is drawing too much amperage to turn the motor over.either way its recommended to replace the complete unit as if the solenoid is bad the motor itself will usually go bad shortly after.

Is it the worn brake indicator you are seeing? If it is in the Tach and says Brake, it could be indicating low brake fluid or some other failure. If it is in the speedometer and is the circle with four dashes around it, the sensor could be bad, or was accidentally tripped some how. It depends on which indicator you see.

That is the indication of an exhaust emissions problem on a Mini from the Great White North. It is the same as Service Engine Soon here in US of A.

If it's really hard to replace, and your dealer wants to do it, yea.
You might shop around and find it much cheaper.

One method describes just turning the key to position 2 and giving it about 30 seconds and that it will reset on its own. A manual method is described here:
