Was driving my mazda rx8 2004 and all of the sudden started shaking and engine light flashing and it died. waited 5 minutes and restarted and still running poorly(no power at all) . they told me it is the engine?, just bought and have driven for 300 miles!!!. need help! thank you!

Check to see fi your fuel pump is functioning, also change the fuel filter. I had this same problem on a 1984 626. While i waited for the car to restart fuel would seep into the line to allow for the enging to startbe that was it.

Drive it into a dark place, or wait till dark. When it's running poorly, see if you can see any spark flying around. It sounds like plug wires.

Jack the drivers side up and secure on jack stands. Remove the drivers side front wheel. You can then reach through the fender well to remove and reinstall the spark plugs.

The engine has an electronic module where the spark plug wires connect to. Replace this and you will see the difference. Once this module heats up it will malfunction. After cooling down the car will start up again. hope this helps.

their is no cpu in a van, their is an ecu, and that should be taken care at dealer. they must have a repair depot, or a certified area to get it repaired...
if its the check engine light, well if all fluids are fine, and it runs its ok... just go to a local garage they should be able to shut it off... have you replaced the intake filter?, run some cleaner through the system, looked around for some loose or messed up wiring around the firewall ?
