I believe, that there is a short in the fuel pump kill switch which is located on the top inside the gas tank. I had GM replace the whole thing including fuel pump. It took awhile to figure this out, since it didn't show up in thier diags. Since then no problems.
well as you know the fuel tank has to be droped for this. the best thing to do is either jack up back end, and put on jack stands. or just back up on a set of car ramps. this should give enough room to drop tank. good-day ! can be done in yard easily!
on the 2000 malibu the a/c low side service port is located close to the fire wall, go to the passenger side go under the hood follow the fire wall down and you will see the service port, you will need a flash light, and make sure the engine is off before you connect and disconnect
The headlight is a Halogen that comes out the back.
Find the wire harness and follow it to the back of the light to a rubber cover. Pull the rubber cover off the back and find a holder. Unscrew or releade the wire "spring" then pull out the old bulb.
BR SURE NOT to touch the glass part of the new bulb.....
Have the DIS module checked and the coil pack for cyl 3. If either/both of those need replaced, have it done and have the codes cleared. Then see if it clears the others.
You may need a TPS (throttle position sensor) as well.
Is it noisy with only the blower fan on or does the A/C have to be on to get the noise.
Try using the heater only and see if the noise is present.
Let me know.
Regards,
Yup mine did the same thing it needs to be oiled use a spray oil and also if it is cold were you are the hood latch cable can stick open so spray the cable inside at the latch Lockdicer will help for cold days. If your latch is hard to pull <latch handle> don't force it. It will break so if the car will start warm the car up first this will melt the ice. The sceeching is the powersteering pump check the fluid if low if it is not low then it is your pump not to hard to replace. Hope this helps
