My 2000 buick lesabre want start fuel pump comes on when i turn the key i have spark at the coils.checked all fuses. Changed fuel filter but car still won't start its trying to start but just won't turn all the way over
remember your basics,,, fuel, fire, compression. If you have fuel pressure and spark, you might want to check to see if you have water in a cylinder. Seen it before on a LeSabre.remember your basics,,, fuel, fire, compression. If you have fuel pressure and spark, you might want to check to see if you have water in a cylinder. The proper way to find the problem would be to pull a plug wire an see if it has spark or hook up a fuel pressure gauge an see if it has fuel pressure . Don't guess an just replace parts if you don't know how to test correctly . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB-hVxk4yus
didnt specify vehicle --generic answer --why did you change all those parts were they all bad ---square one check fuses and relays try to start with ether /starter fluid if starts fuel problem retest pump new doesn't mean free from defects also test relay and wire harness --if no start possible ignition switch wiring retest coils and plugs for spark ----with another person have them try to start vehicle while you feel back of exhaust if feels and sounds clogged possible bad catalytic converter---test and check egr valve possible carbon build up
if the engine turns check for elec to the coil... is the fuel pump making a sound when u turn the key on .u should hear a humming noise for a few seconds .if not check pump ..has the fuel filter been changed if not it may be cloged
Electric fuel pumps are known for burning out if you run them out of gas, pull the fuel line at the trottle-body, have someone turn the key on and see if you get fuel-flow, you may also check the fuel pump fuse and relay to make sure they are good.
coil pack played out, or timing chain jumped. Use a timing light to see if you have spark. If you haven't, change the coil pack. If you have spark, then check the timing chain. When you aim your timing light at the timing mark, if it's jumping all over the place, you need a timing chain. If that all checks out, you may have a fuel problem. See if you can hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds when you turn the key to the "on" position. If you can hear it, check and change the fuel filter. Let me know how it goes.
