I have 93 Lexus Ls400 when I hit the gas it makes a screaching sound as thou it needs a belt.Someone told me that it could be the buschings in the alternator. What could be my problem?

first look at belt if loose worn cracked glazed or just plain old and worn out change because a bad belt makes noise when slipping on pulleys ------if belt is good than look at belt tensioner ---- and pulleys to all components ---and listen to the area when vehicle running for grinding or squeal
