The clutch is your problem as it is not lifting enough to disengage when the engine is running .It may be an adjustment (if cable clutch) or if its hydraulic check for leaks ,also check to see how much the slave cylinder is moving when somebody presses the pedal (engine not running). If the clutch fork is moving enough then you are going to need a new clutch.

If the clutch is correctly adjusted, it will start to engage when releasing the clutch pedal at 1 in. off of the floor. When in Heavy traffic shift trans to neutral while at a stop, take your foot off of the clutch pedal to avoid overheating the release bearing

I have a problem with my chicco 1.4 golf, the 1st gear does not want to engage properly, asif there is something blocking it.please help

Try to double clutch shift (press clutch, shift into neutral, release clutch, press again and try to shif) If goes ok into 1st gear then its's the syncro mechanism worn out, if still goes hard, you should check if the clutch do disengage completely

1998 Saturn SC1 manuel stick is hard to shift into 1st & 2nd gear

Try to double clutch the clutch pedal. How to double clutch; push the clutch in moving the stick to neutral, then release the clutch and then push it back in and shift into first or second gear. If it works then it is not the shift linkage and could be a clutch adjustment. First how far do you have to release the clutch pedal until the clutch plate starts to engage? If only an inch or so the clutch pedal needs to be adjusted, which is an easy fix (this is more common). The other possible problems could be the clutch plate, throwout bearing of syncros could be bad. If it is one of the previous problems double clutching should buy you some time.

I have a 2004 mazda rx-8 6 speed manual transmission...i am having a real hard time shifting into gears...sometime it won't even bulge into gear, and that's when i have to use excessive forces just to put...

You need to check the clutch hydraulics i.e. the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder for their function, even if its cable operated try to adjust it so as it opens the clutch fork a little more to allow the clutch plate to be free, thus easy selection of gears.
If this fails thn you will have to replace the pro-kit i.e. clutch plate, pressure plate and release bearing.
Hope this helps!
