Well there can be three things wrong, If the mechanic actually umped hte fan then there can only be one of two things wrong with it. 1. the fan relay or the fan temperature switch. the relay is the easiest to test as you can just swap it out with the horn relay and try honking the horn. Horn works then its the fan temperature switch. Horn does not work it is the relay.

Good Luck

Hi,
The Vette has a temp switch in the head. Turns on at 235 degrees.
Puts power to the fan relay. Relay starts the electric fan.
So you need to check to make sure the fan works. The relay is working. The Temp switch is working. Basic tests but a bit to much to walk you through it here.
Best Wishes.
Wayne

I have a 1981 corvette I put freon in it and 1 line is cold 1 line is hot contro l door is closing from hot to cold but will not cool.

Check that your cabin air ducting does not have disconnects and verify the fan is blowing air through the cooling condenser coil. Something may have fallen down through the windshield defroster slots and jammed the fan.

Have a 91 nissan pick-up staight 4 have it over heated oce replace thermostat and hose upper ran it for a day got hot again took out the thermostat and still gets hot what is the deal please help lee....

Replace the water pump, and also check for air in the system. Make sure the vehicle is cool, remove the radiator cap, start the vehicle and start pumping the lower radiator hose with your hand to help remove any air pockets in the cooling system. I would try this first before looking at the water pump or the fan since you let air into the system the minute that you removed the hose to install the thermostat and upper radiator hose

My 1987 Chevrolet Corvette gets hots while idling at a stop light, when should the fan come on and is 215 to hot?

215 is not too hot. What matters is that you have all of the air bled out of the system, and that the fans come on. Be sure the system holds pressure, including the cap.
