It depends on what size cans of freon you are getting and if the system has been retrofitted for R-134A refrigerant (1992 came originally equipped with an R-12 system). The factory specifications call for 1.8 Lbs. of R-12. If it has been retrofitted for R-134A, the general "rule-of-thumb" is 85% of the R-12 specification is needed to charge the system with R-134A. So if we do the math: 1.8 Lbs (R-12) X .85 (R-134A) = 1.53 Lbs. R-134A needed for a full recharge (providing the system is COMPLETELY empty. Then you will have to find out how much is in each can that you plan to buy and do the math to figure out how many cans you need. (some have 12 oz., some have 14 oz., some have 16 oz., some have 19 oz. and some have 22 oz.)

Air conditioner doesn't work, compressor kick on and there seems to be a hole in the hose that delivers freeon to the engine.

replace hose and recharge your AC. Dealer will charge a fortune. Get a kit from autozone for about $40.

The compressure kicks on, amd the blower works and it let me put the freeon in it once and thats all it let me know it dont work kno more when i add freeon? and it blows hot air

you need to have a repair shop do a leak check/test since you r losing freon somewhere if you have to keep adding it. Once it all leaks out it allows air to enter and air IS NOT a good thing for a/c systems. They run under an initial 30 inches of vacuum for freon charging.

Air conditioner blow warm air after freeon

you could have a leak in the ac system which would be why you had to add freon. take it to a repair shop and ask them to check fo rleaks because adding more freon wont fix your issue if there is a leak.

just find the AC lines marked H and L DO NOT TOUCH THE H. L stands for low pressure, unscrew cap and fill it with the ac kit from Wall mart or an auto store.

try taking the door panel off to see if the lock engages.

You probably have air in he system. You need to vaccum the system down and then put freon in. You can either rent the equimpent to do it from autozone and do it yourself, or take it to a shop.

Air conditioner only works while moving. The AC stops cooling when stopped and idleing. Anyone know what causes this?

Your freon level is low, and not circulating on slow compressor speeds. Stop by any shop that has a sign stating they work on a/c and they can recharge it for you in a few minutes. Here where I live they charge about $20.00 labor plus a charge for the freon they put in, they sell it by the pound.

Air Conditioner

To answer your question , yes that what needs to be done. Sounds like the vents aren't blocked, just that the control motors aren't opening them.  It may be a bad switch, lose wire.  So to get it working as you were told you would need that fixed.  he price sounds a little high if all he is doing is charging it, without checking for leaks.
