When I turn the key, it starts good--has a new battery- however, once in a while I turn the key and there seems to be no connection between the battery and the starter, no click, nothing. . The I try again later on and it starts immediately/ When I talk to the dealer, they of course need to check it when it won't start--- ???

This sounds more like an ignition issue and not a starter or battery issue. When you turn the key if no power is being sent to the major components then that is a fault either in the wiring to the ignition system or the ignition system itself is bad and you need to replace the ignition

Your connections are not good at the battery. Are the cable ends that attach to the battery clean? Are they making good contact with the battery. With the cables connected and after you try to start measure voltage by placing the test leads directly on the battery post. You should see 12.4 volts. Now place the leads directly on to the battery cable ends. You should see exactly the same voltage. If not it's the connection that are not good.

Will not start, battery is new, it just clicks and nothing. turn it off, try again and nothing, try again and it starts

Try cleaning and tightening well the battery connections along with the battery wires to the solenoid and starter motor.

Bad connections and low voltage of 12 volts can result in this anomaly.

1998 Accord will not start

starting withthe battery, check and clean ALL connections as something is not making proper contact.make sure the cables are good, clamps tight..work your way to the starter solenoid and check contacts/ connections there..also chech ground wires..all this is only if the battery does not have a shorted cell in it.. even new ones can get shorts..if you can get it to start go to autozone or advance..they do free testing..

Battery is new, engine won't turn over.

The voltmeter should only go as high as 14-15 volts when the engine is running. I would check for a poor connection between the battery and starter.

That sounds like the battery is drained. Try jumping starting from another car. (make sure the jumper cables have good connections) Also you may have a bad battery connection. Make sure the connections are nice and clean also tight. If you go threw this process and you had a good jump start and it is still clicking it maybe time for a new starter.(starter can be tested for free at many auto part stores) (please rate me if this helps)

2003 Ford Ranger (Mazda B2300) won't start via starter or push

Did you remove the faulty cable and replace it with a new one? sometimes a cable can be so badly corroded it's rendered useless, as the corrosion can travel all the way along the cable, if you have a multi tester check the resistance ( Ohms ) using the top and end of the affected cable, you should get a high pitched sound when you connect both ends ( to the meter ) thewad001

Won't start

try unplugging the battery terminals and leave them off for 10 mins. if it starts afetr that then you may be looking at an antitheft issue. if not, check the fuse box for any blown fuse.
