Car has been started in over a year, got new gas, new battery, engine turns over but will not start, tapped on coils and crank sensor, can hear fuel punp, no start?

If your 1999 Nissan Bluebird is cranking but not starting, here are a few things you can check: Fuel supply: Check if there is fuel in the tank and if the fuel pump is functioning properly. You can listen for a humming sound from the fuel pump when you turn the key to the "On" position. If you don't hear anything, the fuel pump may be faulty. Spark: Check if there is a spark at the spark plugs. You can remove a spark plug, connect it to the spark plug wire, and ground the spark plug to the engine block while someone cranks the engine. If there is no spark, you may have a problem with the ignition system, such as a bad ignition coil or ignition module. Battery: Check if the battery has enough power to start the engine. You can try jump-starting the car or using a battery charger to charge the battery. Starter motor: Check if the starter motor is working properly. You can try tapping on the starter motor with a wrench or hammer while someone cranks the engine. If the engine starts, the starter motor may be faulty. What make vehicle ? year an model too ! Before you replaced those parts did you check for battery supply voltage an check the ground for those components ? You need to get a wiring diagram an see what get's voltage an what is ground ! An see what all is involved , crankshaft position sensor , ECM / PCM -engine computer etc...! Then you need a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test ! Your looking for a quick fix an doesn't work like that !

Assume you have gas. BMW does not like to start or run if the battery voltage gets too low (for example sitting in the driveway unused. It does not take long with all the electrical drain(computer, security, etc.). A peculiar item about M cars is if the oil gets 3 quarts low, the engine wont start to protect the engine. Other less common camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, ignition coil pack, fuel filter, fuel pump. If it does not crank but battery is fine, check the starter. Turn the ignition to ON but not START then if you cannot hear the fuel pump humming, the fuel pump itself or a relay to it is probably bad. Using a rubber mallet, give a couple of sharp blows to the underside of the fuel tank and then try to start. If it starts, fuel pump is bad. Fuel pump is located under the back seat on the passenger side-easy to get to.

Pull off the coil ignition cable at the distributor and check for spark coming out of coil when cranking engine over. Use a heavy rag or glove to hold the wire 1/4 inch from a metal ground. Should see a strong blue spark when cranking to verify ignition is good. If no spark, check for battery voltage to coil on the coil primary. If you have current to the coil, suspect a bad coil, ignition module, crank position sensor, or cam position sensor, or pcm. The coil, ignition module, and sensors can be tested before replacing.

if the car cranks it is not a starter or a battery problem. A car needs 3 things it start . gas ,air ,and spark. do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to the start position. car you have some one spray starter fluid in the throttle body to see if you have spark..if you do not hear the fuel pump then that is the problem. if you have no spark. then you need to check a few things. crank position sensor,cam position sensor, ignition coil,

If the Starter isn't turning the engine over, but you hear a clicking sound, you may have a bad Starter.
If the Starter is turning the engine over, but you are getting no Spark, you may have a failed Camshaft or Crankshaft Position Sensor, or your Timing Belt may have jumped or broken(common on the neons).
If the Starter is turning the engine over, but you are getting Spark, you may have a failed fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or fuel pressure regulator.

Before you start replacing sensor, double check the Timing belt to ensure it hasn't broken or jumped, and check to see if you are getting a spark or not.

If you mean that when you try and start it the engine actually turns over but does not start, then check out the following info (I had a similar problem on my 1989 Volvo 240. It would start fine sometimes, other times it would not start even though it would crank) . It turned out to be the fuel pump relay. 
When you try starting your car and you can not hear the fuel pump turned on (sound coming from the left underside of the car in front of the left rear tire), do the following if you think this is your issue (no cost for trouble shooting and takes 10 minutes to do):
The fuel pump relay is behind the access panel under the glove box. The panel is easy to remove - just unscrew each of the 5 panel knobs/fasteners a quarter turn and the panel comes out/down.  The fuel pump relay is a white plastic cartridge with a wire harness going to it. Just unclip it from the metal clip that retains it and leave it hanging there. When the car doesn't start and just cranks, lean over and tap the relay while you are trying to start the car (tapping it shakes the contacts inside that would normally switch over to complete the circuit when it is energized). If this is your issue and you can repeat the solution by tapping the relay when starting the car, buy a new one (I got mine at www.ipdusa.com for around $14) and kept the old one in the trunk just in case.

back to basics.. it turns over? starting system is ok... does it have fuel? does it have spark? is it getting air?....many many vacuum lines in that year model ..any many could be compromised...waft carb cleaner through intake to see if it lights up... check for spark if not .... then continue with compression test for engine internal health and timing issues... too many things to list here.... good luck adn avdive
