SOURCE: the cars climate control running hot on the passenger side

I had the same issue, where the driver side blew hot and passenger side cold. Took it to the dealer and they charge me 6oo dollars to change the air actuator value. This value (next to radiator) is what controls the coolant flow for the dual climate control.

After having this done and looking at the change, I became more than a bit
Agitated.... A thought occurred to me that a radiator flush would have resolved the issue and saved me 600 dollars. What lead me to that conclusion are two things

1) Mechanic said when he clamped of the other side of he value the issue resolved itself meaning the value was not bad.
2) This issue only happen after I turned on the heater for the first time this season...

SOURCE: climate zone problems

Hello, This is because your actuator door in the dash board is broken. its about $1000 to fix. Its a bad design flaw that Jeep used in their dual climate control. Many many many jeep owners have had this problem.

SOURCE: 2004 chevy tahoe, dual climate control, blowing different temps

Its more then likely the temp door broken or temp door motor broken/stuck. There is 2-3 of these motors under the dash on the side of the evap/heater core box. Some require extensive labor to replace, good luck

SOURCE: 1999 pontiac grand prix gtp dual airconditioning

Two things can be the problem, first, try adding ,a little freon,if it is low,it will only cool one side, then if this does not help, there is a door actuator motor that controls this,it could be not working, the dash has to come out to replace this actuator motor,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

One side hot other side cold

if you have dual controls for temperature for passenger and driver, they may be set to different levels, try to push the driverside temp control switch or knob in and this will give driver control over both sides again

01 grand prix only one side blowing cold air

Did you check the blend air door actuator for BOTH sides or just one? The only things that can cause the symptoms you are descibing is a blend air door actuator that is not working or a broken blend air door.

Although there are several things that can cause the actuator to not work, it is usually caused by a failure in the actuator itself.

If you can actually see the actuator moving when you change the temperature setting, then the door itself is broken....pretty "cut-and-dry".

2002 grand prix dual controls driver side works fine passenger side always hot. any ideas simple ones first

from my experience, it is usually caused by the cabin air filter needing to be replaced-in the engine compartment, on the passenger side immediately in front of where the passenger sits, there is a plastic door high up just below the windshield wiper blade. Try opening that door and remove the filter (looks a little like an air filter for an engine). Close the door and start it up, see if that fixed it. If not, it gets a little more complicated, involving checking vacuum lines behind the dashboard at the climate controller.

I have a 1997 Pontiac Gran Prix and the air conditioner is full blast on the passenger side and on the drivers side is hot air?

I think these cars have dual climate control. Basically, the driver and passenger can set their own climate. Some like it hotter than others, is the thinking. If this is the case, you need a new climate control module. If not, I am at a complete loss.

Good luck!

No hot air on driver side. Pasenger side has hot air.

if it has dual zone climate setting it could be stuck in the cool setting. if it is not blowing any air it could be the duct came loose and it is blowing the air inside the dashboard. it will require you to pull the dash apart to inspect what the exact cause is. it could be anything from a bad temp setting switch in the climate control panel to a bad vac line that that switches the air from hot to cold. any other info you could give me may help such as if it is full electronic climate or manual knobs, dual zone, is it blowing any air or just no hot air.

Air Conditioning

I'm going to assume the fan louvers (that direct air from wind shield head to feet ect) are electronically controlled. If that is the case, then a motor may have died. You only have one AC system for the vehicle, so if its cold on one side, then the fault lies within the air ducting system. Maybe a mouse built a nest in there and is blocking air flow?
