My car is a 2003 cevy impala, it was shifting hard and late shifting i took it to aamco transmission for a diagnostic and they told me tranny was no good any more so they would re-build it for 1600 so i bought another 1 from a scrap yard a mechanic put it in. tranny was working fine the first day out of the shop shifting right not accelerating by itself, but after a couple of days after it started doing the problems all over again (problems are shifting hard, over accelerating when im at a red light i have to hold the brake down hard if not it will take off by itself, but if i put it in park at alight it will be over accelerated then it will decellerate by itself in a few seconds and if not i push on the gas pedal real quick and that will do it also
recommend you test your accelerator position sensor.recommend you test your accelerator position sensor.

that is norm normal. but no engine told. your first car ever.>? or sold the Lincoln 6L for a Kia. a shock that;
the shifting charts are in the service manual and the TCM holds this chart in its"TCM" brain
and RPM of engine and road speed and engine load indexes this table ( and set hard no changes by you)
and all upshifts are delayed by all 3 things I told above. even tranny temps too.(too hot)
also smaller engines even shift latter , lacking the HP to do all that.
i guess is a 4speed box + OD and TCC?
the box (trannY) tries
to no lug the engine,
not overheat the transmission
and safe fuel.
even driver demand like WOT will force the tranny to 2nd gear uphills.(wide open throttle)
also and weak engine shows it is overloaded too soon
and tell the TCM this fact and the TCM shift later or not at all.
that is how ALL EBOXs work
if check engine lamp is on , this can be weak engine
or transmission errors ,causing late shifts. scan the PCM/TCM and see what';s up?
factors not told or hard to express
engine is weak
hill is too tall (steep) called load)
right foot is too heavy
scans show engine or transmission errors

... Doctor, explores the causes of harsh shifting in automatic transmissions. ... Early diagnosis is important to ...
Sometimes the transmission sets a "hard code" that causes a hard shift from 1-2. Stop by an Auto Parts store that has an OBD scanner and reset any codes. If that doesn't work, change the tranny fluid and filter and try SeaFoam additive. Good Luck.
The shift solenoid(s) are defective or incorrectly installed or the TCU has to be reprogrammed to accept the new solenoids. If nothing was replaced the TCU has to be recalibrated.
Did you have it serviced or rebuilt, If you had it rebuilt I would take it back to the trans shop for warranty repairs.
If they just changed the trans filter I don't think it would cause your problem. You just have bad luck with the slipping trans
Sounds like the vacumn modulator isn't connected. Like the hose has come off, or there is a tear in the hose. (4t60-E transmission)
4t65-E transmission is a different ballgame. Check the electrical connector to the side of the tranny. Make sure it's plugged in tight, and there is no corrosion on the connectors. Past this point it's time to check sensors. WSS, (Wheel Speed Sensor), and VSS, (Vehicle Speed Sensor) Make sure these connections aren't corroded, and are on tight on both transmissions. (Don't know which one you have. 4t60-E, or 4t65-E. I suspect you have the 4t60-E. It will state this on the transmission oil pan in raised letter/numbers)
recommend you test your accelerator position sensor.
