Sometimes after my 1997 Honda Civic has run for a while, say I make a stop and when I go to start up the car it just has issues starting again. It doesnt seem to help if I give it some gas but if I wait a few minutes it usually starts up.

What kind of issues? Can you describe what you see/hear/feel when you are trying to restart the car after a short stop?

Does the d4 light start blinking? usually it is the main relay. the soldering joints on the main relay dry up and when they get hot, loose contact, which is why the car doesnt start up right away.

this is the main relay from autozone. it seems to be the same one for 4 cylinder and 6 cylender engines.

95 civic wont start

An engine needs 3 things to run: Fuel, compression, ignition.

Maybe the timing belt went out. Take off the dist cap and see if the rotor turns as you crank the engine.

Next run a compression test on all the cylinders.
