Hi, Freon is a gas or liquid that has to be pumped in to you cars cooling system.
You need a special machine to do this. Most modern cars don't use Freon anymore.
Now there is an enviromentally safer product that they use ( R134a )
You may have to make some changes to you system to make this work. Good luck.

How much freon do I put in a 1995 grand am when

First, freon is no longer available. Your vehicle requires either R-12 or 134A. Take it to a ac specialist.

1995 grand jeep cherokee won't take freon why

You do know the compressor must be running to allow the system to be charged, right ?
If the system is low you have to jumper the low pressure switch or otherwise provide power to the compressor to put new cans of freon in.
And it will only go in on the low side of the system, which should be the only side you can connect the hose to.

How many cans of freon should i put in me 95 pontiac bonneville

None, unless you know how much is already in it. what are you high and low pressures? what is the ambient temp? what is the vent temp? Leave it to a pro. Fix the leak. then have it recharged with the correct amount.

On a 1995 pontiac grand am gt how do you get the a/c clutch to engage to put freon in

Someone else asked the same question, but different car- I guess they didn't believe me-
The answer is - it's the opposite process. You need to put the refrigerant in the system in order for the clutch and compressor to come on. The refrigerant comes in highly pressurized cans, and it will load into the system through the low side filler valve. Once there's sufficient pressure in the system, the compressor kicks on. At first it will cycle on and off fairly rapidly until the system is adequately pressurized. If the compressor were to run without refrigerant and lubricating oil, it would burn out. I suggest you purchase a gauge( similar to a tire gauge) that hooks up to the same valve that the filler hose hooks up to. It will give a reading of the system charge, so you don't under or over charge the system, and they're relatively inexpensive. They can be purchased in the auto parts store where you get the refrigerant and filler hose.

Hope this helps...

find the compressor and follow the wider size freon line to the blue cap
that is the one you fill with.
you will need to go to the parts house and get a freon 134a fill kit.
not the conversion kit

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix...I need to know where the intake is to add a/c coolant

Under the hood towards the front of the engine compartment is the condenser. This has two lines on it. One is larger than the other. The larger line is the low pressure line with a blue cap on the service port. To fill the freon you must get a can with a hose that hooks up to this fitting. While the a/c is on max, open the valve on the freon(134a) can and the compressor will start to run. When the line starts to sweat check the temp coming from the vents, the white sticker under the hood will tell you the a/c system capacity. Don't overfill it. Good luck

1995 pontiac grand am: AC

You take your car to the nearest licensed automotive A/C shop and have them evacuate the system and recharge.

I'm saying this because once you have opened the system, you have let moisture into it. Even a small amount of moisture will damage your A/C system, and needs to be removed. Also, they will know just how much refrigerant to put into the system once it is moisture free.
