The Air Conditioning in my 1998 Dodge Avenger ES 2.5 does not work. Normally, I wouldn't care, but I installed an aftermarket Alpine stereo setup and without A/C, the amp in my trunk overheats very frequently. I can hear a squeaking while driving with the A/C button engaged that sounds like the compressor, but I can't tell if it's working or not and have no idea whether it's an electrical/wiring problem, a bad compressor or if it just needs a Freon charge. I would appreciate any help I can get, thanks!

Sounds like compressor clutch is trying to engage
so I would buy an a/c recharge kit get the one with a sealer in it follow the directions on package then if your clutch kicks in your good to go... if this don't work or only works for a day or two then need to find where system is leaking by a pro... I would be more worried about your amp overheating ...

SOURCE: This problem concerns the Air

Check the compressor to see if it is turning. If it isn't check the AC fuse. If the fuse is OK, then the charge is likely low.

2014 Dodge Avenger. I'm hooking up a radio to my Dodge Avenger and I need the wiring color code diagram.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

This is never as easy as you think it should be. Modern car radios are often connected to and monitored by the BCM (body control module). Aftermarket radios don't communicate on the computer network and that causes issues. Some of the cars features are operated through the car speakers like door chimes and reversing signal tones.

2008 dodge avenger radio unlock code because i installed an after market stereo and my battery is dead by morning last thing i know to do

Have you connected the aftermarket unit properly? If you have hooked the main power up to a permanent live power in the car it will continuously draw power. Only the memory wire (yellow) should be connected to a constant power, the main power should be from an ACC switched power. If the radio has been installed correctly there will be no power loss while the ignition is off.

We had the serpenitne belt replaced on our mini van two weeks ago now the air conditioning doesn't work. When I called they said one wouldn't have to do with the other. Do you think that's

Replacing the belt would have nothing to do with causing the air conditioning to stop working UNLESS the mechanic accidentally knocked loose the two terminal connector on the A/C compressor when replacing the belt. This is easy to do as the connector is in the immediate area of the belt and may have been. Check for loose connections around the compressor.

Where is the alternator fuse on a 2008 dodge avenger?

look in the fuse block, driver's side, forward corner of engine bay under the hood. I think the lid on the little box has the diagram underneath it, to locate the alternator fuse. Check all your fuses there, too.
I think the small plug-in connector with two wires on the alternator would be for the voltage regulator, wouldn't it?
