First of all your belt shouldn't be coming off at all period, it sounds like either you have the wrong size belt on your vehicle, or your Idler/ Belt Tensioner is going bad and not keeping your belt tight on the pulleys. I would first check to see if you have the right size belt for your vehicle and check to see if your Belt Tensioner is working properly and not frozen or seized.

There is a water drain plastic "accordian" tube for the cowl (in fact there are 2; one on each side) that tends to break. The tube is known to break (i've fixed several) often time just above the tensioner pully which means that when it rains, the rainwater drains right onto the serp belt. Repair the tube and done.

1994 Dodge Grand Caravan. Does anyone know what could cause the serpentine belt on a Dodge Grand Caravan to come off every time it rains?

Tensioner badly adjusted or pulleys are misaligned.

Take it back to the shop and ask them to fix the tension under the repair warranty.

There should be enough tension that the belt can't jump the pulleys. There is a small chance is is misrouted.

My dodge grand carivan is reading code p0601 just had trublle with belt comming off in bad rain storme

I am not familiar with the computer codes but I think you can get them from the Internet. The reason I'm responding is that I had trouble with my serpentine belt coming off when water splashed up. It happened 2 times and just wouldn't stay on. I took it into a shop near where it happened the second time - lucky me! - and they replaced the idler pulley saying it happens when it gets worn...over 4 years now and no problems with it to date. It cost me around $100. Good Luck!

2002 dodge grand caravan sport belt squeals when it rains

The serpentine belt tensioner is a spring loaded device that pulls the right amount of pressure to keep the belt for falling off, as well slipping.

This unit has a short life span, that of the belt, and in most cases it is recommended that it should be replaced at the same time as the belt.

I am 90% sure this is the issue.

I hope this helps

Serpentine belt problem in a dodge grand caravan v6 3.3 l 2000 slept when is raining or wet days

Hello, This was a common problem with these van. So common that gates made a solotion to it. They made a kit that contains a belt with groove on both sides of it. and a tentioner pulley with grooves and also an idler pulley with grooves. This gets rid of the smooth pulleys that the belt can slip off from. I think the kit is about $150 buck and you will have to change them two pulleys, but The belt will never come off again. here is a part # GATES Part # 38379K and link to show you a pic. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1042854 Copy and past this link to your browser to see a pic

2000 dodge caravan serpentine belt slips off when it rains. How do we stop this?

if belt is not worn beyond serviceability ,suspect tensioner pulley bearings--check pulley side play i.e. can you shake it back& forth?replace w/ a new one

Serpentine belt keeps coming off

you probably need to chage the belt tensioner.
