Email me at [email protected] and put your wallet away. I have some manuals in my archives that I would not mind sharing. That is for a 123 body and I do have the vacuum and engine diagrams/manuals you will need. Great little cars.

check primary fuel filter for diesel. If none take hose and blow back to tank. You should hear air bubbling. then try letting pump pick up fuel. You could have a clogged screen in the tank.

2003 VW Passat wagon 1.8 turbo, the check engine lite came on and the code is po411. how to fix without spending money I don't have

This code indicates that you have a faulty secondary air injection system. Basically this is a system in which pumped air is allowed into the exhaust system to help burn off any residual fuel droplets when the engine is warming up and thereby reduce hydrocarbon emissions. The 'injection of air' (opening of the valve) is by vacuum supplied by a thermally resistant over-braided vacuum line. Find your combi 'air injection' valve on the exhaust manifold and then check the integrity of the length of over-braided vacuum line. There is a good chance that the fault is merely a leak in this line (a poor end fitting) and this in turn is failing to supply the necessary vacuum to open the valve to allow pumped air into the exhaust. Hope this helps point you in the right direction.

I have installed a new engine on my 1999 jetta turbo diesel but i cant get it to start. I dont know the reason why its not starting?

SOUND LIKE DIESEL INJECTION PUMP IS DRY.YOU GOING TO HAVE TO USE A HAND HELD VACUUM PUMP.HOOK IT TO THE RETURN LINE FITTING AND DRAW FUEL INTO THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP.

I have a 1985 mercedes benz 190D i just had a starter put in, i notice that my vacum lines are not on the right lines my car stayes on when i try to turn it off. i need to know where each vacum lines goes....

rbbnsent: Let me see if I can help you.Fird, your vacuum lines are color coded if you look closely. As they age, some of them get difficult to differentiate from. One place where you can positively ID them, is where the line has not been exposed to the elements. That is where they have been inside a vacuum hose.
Ready?
Starting off, the vacuum line which shuts off the engine is a brown/blue line it goes to a diaphragm that has the fitting facing parallel to the pump body (runs parallel to the ground) Hook the line into the diaphragm.
Next, you have a vacuum hose which has a check valve on it.
Connect this one to the fitting which runs straight up.
There should be a white line near by. Hook the line up to the fitting just behind the one you just hooked up.
There should be a Black line going into the back of the pump.
Alright, coming off the vacuum pump, you have a fitting which should 4 lines excluding the vacuum source.
Now the vacuum source should have a check valve in line with it.
The following colors should be going into this "T"
White, white/blue, green, white/black.
Going back to the injection pump: Coming off the line which had the check valve, one direction is white/violet/brown and the other direction which heads off in the same direction as the front of the motor, is black.
The Black line coming out of the back of the pump hits a "T" which goes to a check valve and it hits another "T"
Coming off the side of that "T" is a white/green
I'm pretty sure, I have far exceeded the number of vacuum hoses which you found disconnected.
I hope I have answered you question thoroughly.
I happen to drive a Mercedes Diesel (81 300TD wagon) I love it!

Vacuum diagram of Mercedes 190D, 2,2

neto 190D: You are asking about a vacuum diaphragm?
I'm going to take a WAG.. Your engine won't shut
down with the key?
If so, he is the way you find out:
In your injection pump, the vacuum diaphragm which kills the engine is the one which has the fitting pointing parallel to the ground.
The vacuum line which serves it is a brown/blue
To check the system, first check for vacuum in the line. Run the engine for a minute or so. Cap off the brown/blue line.
Turn the ignition switch off and then with hose in hand, uncap it and you should hear a hissing sound. If you have a vacuum guage, obviously, use it for the test, you need a minimum of 10 inches to kill it.
To test the pump diaphragm, you can rig a vacuum line to a known vacuum source close to the main "T". Run the engine and with the line connected to the diaphragm, connect it to the good vacuum source, if it kill the engine, the diaphragm is good. If you have a hand vacuum pump it would be more ideal, because you could check the diaphragm for small leaks.
If the diaphragm is bad, it is easy to replace on the pump.
The shutoff diaphragm lists for $86.00
Is my shot in the dark correct?

1999 Volkswagon beetle turbo diesel injection pump

Was any work just done to this car? Timing belt? It is rare that these pumps go bad but I have seen a few shell out. If you are not familiar with the ALH diesel engine I would not try to replace it. You should take it to a shop that specializes in VW's.
