This is a picture of your throttle position sensor. It is located on the throttle body, where the air inlet tube enters the intake manifold. Simply unplug the wires, remove the bolts holding it in place, and replace it with the new unit. Hope this helps!

You do not have a TPS in your car.. I too have a 2006 ChevyAveo.. We have 2 TPS's located inside our Throttle body.. I had the same problem. I have completely replace the throttle body. IT fixed the problem, but when it gets dirty i have to clean it with carberator cleaner. if you clean it don't spray it into it because you ruin the sensors.. BTW you better have small hands to replace the throttle body, i have to use my camera phone to locate he bolts.

There is a special socket for O2 sensors which allow the wires to stick out and not get twisted up. It's not expensive and available at most auto parts stores. Disconnect the sensor from the wiring harness, with the plug and then use the socket to remove and replace the new sensor. Re-connect electrical plug.
