I have a 1997 Mercury mountaineer that won't start sometimes. It has a new battery, starter was replaced a year ago. It starts fine with a jump, but just want it to start every time.

Even though it has a new battery , it may be a faulty battery. If it is a sealed battery test by connecting to a volt meter or if you can top up the battery fluid (distilled water) you can test with a battery hydrometer, alternatively you could use a solar battery charger plugged into cigarette lighter to maintain charge. Hope this helps

I have a 1997 Ford Mercury Mountaineer I go to start it and it wont turn over but it has fire

I suggest check battery charge, starter and ignition system condition; fuel pressure and fuel injection delivery system.

If you have some anti-theft system, check if this inst activated or some aftermark alarm.

Hope helps.
