I am a mechanic ..most people ask questions about these foreign hyundai motors ..below is an example of engines that basically if you ask about a Hyundai Xg 350 ,xg300 ..well allow me to hammer 90% of your questions in case you want to grab another motor ..these motors listed will work on 90% of all hyundai products ...Look at the starter sizes ,,all the same for the selected models ..then look at the motor sizes ..This will help you in solving some problems most do not give the specific questioning 100% NEW REPLACEMENT STARTER FOR STARTER

It has a failure in the engine or transmission, this was sensed by the control computers and to avoid any further damage it put you in the low power limp mode. You need to have the system control modules scanned for fault codes to see what went wrong.
I assume your vehicle is 3.5 V6?... What you describe is 'LIMP HOME' mode of the Electronic Throttle System. Have it PROPERLY diagnosed by a qualified Hyundai Technician.... ONLY SOLUTION ( NOT JUST THE BEST SOLUTION).
If you live in the US, take it to qany Auto Zone store and thy will read the codes off for you, I would suspect any right thinking competitor would do the same, check if you don't have one near by.
