Hi,

Initially, pls check/clean/replace (if warranted) PCV valve and the vent hose it is attached to. Further, it may help to have the compression of your engine checked. Pls post back results.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Allow me to be clear, to my knowledge most Volvos have a flame trap, it is the equivalent of PCV valve. This might be of additional information should you be interested.

I have 2004 f150 heritage 4.2 It has a high pitch squeal on the bottom left, changed belt, all pulleys and harmonic balancer. Still have the noise till it warms up

The noes cam from the power steering pump the filter dirty and the pump cannot build oil presser until the oil will worm up and become thinner and build presser then the noise will stop, all the best.

High presser in tappit cover volvo 84 gl

Check your PCV valve. Its the device that provides ventilation to the crankcase and valve covers. If its clogged or non functional it will cause the engine to **** or blow air from an area with less resistance, which is probably the filler cap. As its blowing air out of the engine it will shoot a little bit of oil with it

How do I take of high presser fuel pump on a 2.2 Vectra petrol

Hello Andrew!

I'm not familiar with the Vectra, but I've never let that stop me before.

These days most fuel pumps are in the fuel tank and while some cars need to have the tank removed to replace the pump, many manufacturers have conveniently provided an access panel in the trunk. Not rocket surgery and of course, usual precautions around gasoline apply: smoke a cigarette during the work, have an open flame nearby and don't disconnect the battery (sparks will help get that fire going ??).

Another thought. You mentioned "high pressure" pump and some cars (like my old Alfa) have a low pressure pump in the tank and a high pressure pump under the car. Just sayin'.

Also, consider looking for a user's group for you car.

All the best

1995 golf gti 16v stalls when hot then restarts after about 5 mins and drives again til its warmed up again ???

When it stalls, I would check to see if it's getting spark. Also, check the inside of the distributor for any oil leaking inside. You may have a pick up coil in the distributor or a bad control module.

Oil gauge reading on my dash

Any where from a quarter to half way is fine. After this the oil presser is getting to high. be sure you run 10-30 in the winter and do a oil change in spring time to 10-40 . oil will thin in hot temp. thus using a thicker oil like 10-40 in the summer will help keep oil presser down .
