This is probably a good guess. Get a vaccum gauge and poke around. If it truly is no vaccum going into the cab, find a source and hook it up. See if that fixes the problem.

There is a actuator on the right side of your leg while sitting in the drivers seat under the dash. It has a plastic rod for actuation manually actuate this diverter and should be the problem.

No, you don't have to remove the cab. Pull the radiator, A/c condenser, trans cooler and core support and pull it straight out the front.

SOURCE: Cruise control not working

The pump is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, back by the firewall. Look in the middle of the firewall by the cowl and you'll see a small plastic line going into the cowl. follow it back and you will come to a T fitting. Follow it to the passenger side and it will go into the Vacuum pump that controls the Cruise control. If you follow it to the other side, it goes under the Battery box. this is where the Servo for the cruise is located. Check the lines for small cracks, wear spots or even breaks. The plastic line can get beaten up pretty easily.
The easy way to see if it is your vacuum pump, turn the key on and listen. you will hear 2 distinct sounds. The first sound will stop in about 15 - 20 seconds. (fuel pump?) the second sound is the vacuum pump. If it turns off in 45 seconds to a minute (or slightly longer) the vacuum pump is probably ok, as are the plastic lines. The sound of the pump stopping means that vacuum has been achieved and is holding vacuum. If it keeps running, the pump is bad or the lines have a break in them. If the lines have had a hole in them for a long time, the diaphragm in the pump will have gone south. This is not a servicable part and the pump will have to be replaced. The pump is available from a dodge dealer but most likely the parts guy will not have a clue as there is no picture in their manual and a very poor description. When talking to them ask for a "03 Ram 2500 CUMMINS Cruise vacuum pump"
The part costs $212.70

SOURCE: 1998 dodge Ram 1500 4X4. The heater/AC blows out

In the engine compartment, locate black vacuum hose that runs from brake booster check valve to intake manifold, there will be a small vacuum hose attached to check valve at the power brake booster check valve. This is the vacuum line going to the heater control unit, check the hose all the way to the firewall, repair any leaks you find. And that should take care of your problem.......GOOD LUCK

Cabin heat

Yes, it might be hard to find such a diagram. Short of a factory service manual, I don't know. Perhaps a friendly parts person at a Chrysler dealership might be able to provide you a copy of how the vacuum lines connect, and how routed.
What you generally have is a single vacuum line from the engine going into the firewall and under the dash to the rear of the heater/AC control assembly. The line enters a fixture that can distribute vacuum signals through several hoses. One of those is the hose to the water valve, the only vacuum line that goes back into the engine bay. Selecting heat on the control obviously will send vacuum from the fixture to the water valve. The other hoses or lines connect to diaphragm operated door levers to control where air is sent.

See where the vacuum line for the valve goes back into the firewall. Then get on the inside and try to find that line-it may have broken or come apart. You may need to pull the heater control assembly out to get to the podlike fixture that the vacuum lines sprout from.
An alternative in this frigid weather, a make-do temporary fix, is to tee off a manifold vacuum line from the engine, and run a hose to the water valve. It will be on constantly, but it's winter, hey?

2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins 5.9 leaking fuel. Engine still runs just fine, but fuel leaking heavily from under the cab(not close to the fuel tank).

There are several fuel connection points in the fuel lines which run from the tank to the fuel pump through the left frame rail. Check these connections and look for any damage to the fuel lines. Additionally, the fuel filter on the left rear of the engine has a water bleed off knob on the bottom. This knob could also leak by the left front corner of the cab.

Where do the vacuum hoses go from the control 1999 Dodge Pickup

first ... Make sure that you have vacuum to your control head. This is normally the black vacuum line. The vacuum than goes to the various vacuum motors on the Heater /AC case. These vacuum motors rarely fail. The normal fault is loss of engine vacuum ..cut line or not secure to engine. second.. a fault with the vacuum reserve reseviour. When the engine needs the vacuum this is your vacuum supply.

Follow these steps:

Check coolant level, then start engine until it is warm and the thermostat opens. You will tell when it does when the needle on your temp gauge goes cold when it reaches around 180-200* and then goes back up. Now turn on your heater full blast and go to the engine compartment. You will see a heater valve located on the passenger side, next to the washer reservoir. It is a black thing with 4 heater hoses connected to it. Feel the hoses. When everything is working correctly it should be like this:

Hose going to waterpump will be hot
Hose going to (I think the thermostat housing) will be hot
2 Hoses going to heater core (mounted behind firewall) will be hot

1. If only 1 heater core hose is hot, heater core is clogged--
UNCLOG: remove 2 hoses going to heater core when engine is cool, hook water hose end to one of the sides and flush out gunk from heater core. Reconnect hose and you should be good.

2. If neither hose core hose is hot, heater control valve is bad or vacuum is bad--
Test Vacuum: remove vacuum line from heater control valve, you should feel the vacuum **** on it when pressed to your cheek and the heater control valve actuator should move when you unhook the vacuum line. If you have a good vacuum, it's probable the valve available at autozone part # 5941 for around $21.

To get heat while you wait to replace part, unhook silver arm on heater control valve that is hooked to the plunger. This will give you heat all of the time, but it is controlled by the bottom hot/cold switch on your heater control unit so you won't get hot in the cab. It will just circulate heat through the core.
