No, still using the stock radio. I forgot to mention that it's an '04 VW Jetta GLS 1.8T, everything stock, until I get it registered...No, still using the stock radio. I forgot to mention that it's an '04 VW Jetta GLS 1.8T, everything stock, until I get it registered...

You got a lemon. Most likely one of the coils is giving out if your model has two or a connector may be loose somewhere. You'll have to get it checked out.
you have an adjustable throttle cable top & backside of motor.. very easy to adjust back down... my jetty stayed idled too low & would randomly rev until cleaned entire intake & adjusted pin on cable... check engine light went out and it auto cleared code almost immediately
First off, let's simply define the OBD-II Trouble Codes: Yes, 18032/P1624/005668 are the three codes that indicate "MIL Request Signal Active." So, what does THAT mean (in plain English)??? This means that Fault Codes are stored in the TCM. SO WHAT'S THE SOLUTION? MyAirbags has a reset solution for 04-07 VW Jetta 1.8L/2.0L https://www.myairbags.com/product/vw-jetta-2004-2007-1-8l2-0l-ecu-ecm-pcm-repair/ as well as the VW Jetta 02-06 2.5L/2.8L https://www.myairbags.com/product/vw-jetta-2002-2006-2-5l2-8l-ecu-ecm-pcm-repair/ You need to have the TCM reset to its original status. https://www.myairbags.com/how-it-works/ecu-ecm-pcm-tcm-unit-repairhttps://www.myairbags.com/engine-control-unit-repairs-ecu-faqs
Have VW check it out. I had just got my 04 GLI with 70,000 miles when the light came on. The thermostat triggered the light and so I had the whole timing belt, thermostat, and water pump service. Worth the money.
The coil pack on these are bad about being defective. You need to check to see if you have power coming from your coil pack. If you do not try changing it out, this produces 60k +/- volts that goes through your ignition wires, to your spark plugs and ignites the gas on combustion with the piston. If it's not giving off a spark, thenyou're not getting power to fire off the engine.
sounds like a faulty sensor tripping and reconnecting.. the next time the light comes on, take it to an advance auto store or an auto zone, they can read your codes for free... this will tell you what is being tripped, that way you know exactly what you need to get checked and/or fixed instead of a mechanic poking around trying to find everything thats NOT wrong. but if you are not expeiriencing any difficulty with the car, you should be fine. the check engine light actually means alot less than most people think. its usually a transmission or emissions sensor, or even as simple as leaving your gas cap off after filling and then driving for awhile.
Hey Guys.. This problem is the Coil Packs. There is a recall out on all 1.8t Motors. If you haven't had an issue, its no rush but should be completed. If you have the sputtering, low power, struggle from the engine, bring it in to an Audi/VW dealer. They'll fix it free of charge. Done and Done.
