180 psi is good, but depends on the life of the engine, if yours is 150 psi all the rest of the cylinders have to be within 20% of the highest compression cylinder, so your allowed 120 psi on one of the other cylinders, it takes 80 psi to fire the cylinder anything less it will not fire.
This motor has changed back and forth over the years , in the early 70's it was get go machine, later it was only available with a 2 barrel carb and less compression for smog specs, in 88 they added fuel injection systems in some but not all of them. I suggest that you get the motor number off the motor itself along with the vin number and call a Ford dealers parts dept. they can cross ref those numbers and give you the exact specs you need to be completely sure
