2009 Jeep Liberty Logo

My rear hatch light indicates that the hatch is open which it is closed tight. Because of this my interior lights stay on and my remote start won't work. How can I fix this? My jeep is the 2009 Liberty.

The switch on the latch is more then likely stuck. If you can see it spray it with some electrical cleaner and open and shut the hatch a few times.

2014 Compass The interior lights stay on and the gate won't open. What could it be?

Car thinks door is closed, press "lock door" on key-fob to shut off all lights & have radio running. Remember to press "open Hatch" button on key- fob before actually closing hatch to automatically flip hatch latch back to the open position.

2011 Cadillac SRX interior lights won't shut off when driving How do I shut them off?

Several possible causes: If the rear hatch is not closed properly, or the "closed" sensor on the hatch is malfunctioning, the lights will stay on. They will also stay on if the dimmer control on the dash is turned all the way on, or if there is an interior lights switch on the headliner light is in the on position.

My 2006 dodge durango rear hatch shuts but the back hatch lamp light n interior lights stay on why

The door switch isn't being pushed in far enough when the hatch is closed. The wire going to that switch may be shorted to the body somewhere, too.

The interior lights stay on because the warning lights say a door is still open but it is closed. Is there any way i can disconnect the warning light, whats the best solution

Hi, There are several causes I would look for.
Each door has a door button that indicates if the door is closed, or turns on the interior light if it is open. There are also contacts on the sliding doors that when they mate, the warning light will go off.
I would try to find the cause.
Do the following.

1 Check to make sure all of the doors are closing properly. You may have one that looks like it is, but is not.

Each door that swings open, i.e. the two front side doors and the hatch should have button switches located in the front door jam of the front doors and one for the rear hatch. Somtimes you will find more then one button.

2 Close all doors
3 Open the driver's side door. (The one that gets the most use), turn on the key but DON'T start the car.
4 find the buttons and push on them on and off to see if the warning light goes out. If it does, then the switch on that door or the door closure position or latch should be able to be adjusted so it works again. If it doesn't, go to #5
(Note: the switch may have a broken off tip, so it may be necessary to replace it. )

5 Repeat for the passenger side door. If necessary go to 6
6 Follow test for the rear hatch. (you may need someone to help on this step.

The sliding door should have some type of "button" like contacts. There may be something lodged into one of them that is giving your a faulty contact.

Hope this helps,
Happy New Year,
Mark

Dome lights won't turn off

Been having a problem with the dome lights on a 99 chevy blazer. Still can't figure out what the problem is. There is a dome light overide button located under the dimmer wheel. When I push the overide button in the dome light goes off, but when I open any of the doors the dome light will not come on. When the overide button is out the dome light stays on all the time and will not turn off even though every door is closed. I checked all the pushbuttons and everything tests good. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?
