Does the switch works in other modes ( ac, def ) If not , ck power & ground at the fan itself in all modes., If OK R/R the fan. If the fan only loses power or ground in heater mode look toward the wiring------switch control. Good Luck.
Sounds like the fan switch has went bad. This could also be a problem with the fan resistor relay which is what the the fan switch goes through before the power reaches the fan. More often than not, it's a one two punch. Take the switch out and check for continuity between ground and the other terminal on the back you will find that, no matter where you put it on has "power" constantly. That is a nogo switch. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the location of the fan switch resistor relay it's tucked behind the dash usually or in the engine compartment.
Have you checked the fuses. Check with test light power to the wiring socket at the heater fan with it switched on. If no power it can be the switch or the resistor or the relay. If there is power there the heater fan motor may need replacing. You need to check the earth wires. Make sure they are clean and tight
Should have a fuse for it; look for 25 or 30 amp heater fuse. If it's good, pull off the connector at blower motor, and with key on and heater fan switch on high setting, check for power at the connector. If you have power there, then the motor nust be bad and need replacing. If no power at the motor, the switch may be bad, or the wiring or the heater relay needs to be investigated. Good luck.
check for power to heater fan. run a wire from battery to fan, then use a piece of wire to ground it. if the fan works but will not work from switch, check the fan resistor, if ok. make sure you are getting power to fan motor. use a 12 volt test light to check for power at the fan motorwith fan selecter on.. good-day !
If this occurs in all positions, check fuse, check for power at the fan motor, if power in all positions replace motor. if no power at fan and fuse is good, check blower motor resistor and blower motor control switch. Replace as required
No power going to fan motor? Next step is to check the switch in the control. See if power is coming to it. Then trace the power through the other side of the switch, (Motor side) See if the switch is good. (Or do a continuity test with the OHM's side of your multimeter for the switch)
Have you checked the earth? You may find current is going to earth via the fans. Find the earth for the heater and make sure it is earthing really well. Hope this helps.
