Rubbing sound near front right tire espeically when turning

i would look and see if your tire on the front right is rubbing any where mine did that before and my tire was rubbing a plastic cover

Tire may be bad or needs an alignment

If its not the bearing and your Mercury is front wheel drive, it could be the "CV" joints.
It could be both....

Is the wheel rubbing the brake caliper?

Is something like the wheel well liner rubbing the tire(airflow pushing it into tire)?

Jack the tire off the ground and rotate it by hand. Push in & out at the top, sides, and bottom of the tire. Little or no play is considered acceptable. If you get a "clunking" sound and/or a lot of play the bearing(s) are bad. (If front wheel drive, chock rear tires, put transmission in neutral so you can rotate tire.)

Did they replace the "link" pin? In the front...the only thing that is a "link" are the swaybar end links, would not be in the way of the tires though. But these need to be replaced as a whole, cannot replace just the pins. Are the tires rubbing or is it a metal to metal sound? If the tires are oversized, could be rubbing against the upper ball joint. If it's metal to metal, it could be many things. If they replaced the end link, make sure they put the correct one on, the right is for the right, the left is for the left, if switched, it will bend and rub agains the gusset right there.....been there, made that mistake.

that sounds to me like your brake pads may be dragging or your wheel bearing is shot

It sounds like a bad bearing on the right side hub. you can check this by raising the front of the car till the tires are off the grond. Grab the tire and try to wiggle it up and down and front to back if there is any play replace the bearing. check both sides

If you have stock sized tires on it.. check the brakes.. also look for loose fender skirting near the wheel as a helper turns the wheel maxxed out to the right.. Lemmie know, Thanx

It sounds exactly like a wheel bearing problem.The right side its seems would be the problem. When you turn right it puts more pressure on the bad bearing making it louder. I would suggest replacing both. If on is gone the other one isn't far off. Hope this helps

did you recently have new tires or rims put on? because it sounds like your tires are rubbing on your wheel well/mud flaps. if that's the case you'll either need to: downsize the tires/rims, remove the plastic covering the wheel well (not the body panel of course), or you could always get a lift haha :)....hope this helps ya out, good luck!
