I have a 2006 BMW x3 that recently started blowing warm air out of the passenger's side while still blowing cold air out of the driver's side. Does anyone know how to DIY and what exactly could be the cause? I'm not looking forward to spending a month's salary at the BMW shop.

X3 ah! that behavior is a known thing. Low on Freon.
Just take it to an a/c shop, they will localize the leak and tell you what is wrong. It could be just as simple as an o'ring, hose, coupling, rule out compressor $$$$ in this case because you are getting cold air from the left side.
they can add a dye if there is a problem locating the leak and they find it after it runs for awhile.
Cheers

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Silverado AC is blowing warm air on passenger side.

You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator

SOURCE: Only cold air on passenger side

I would first check and make sure that you have enough Freon in the system, on climate control dual systems only one side will put out cold air if the system is low on Freon. Eventually, both sides will put out warm/hot air if the system continues to loose Freon. As with all leaks the system should be checked and then the leak causing component replaced/repaired.

SOURCE: side view mirror on my x3 either broke or became

I have never had the privelage to work on a BMW but I am assuming they are assembled in a similar manner to most other modern cars so if you look directly behind the mirror on the inside there should be a plastic cover which hides the mounting bolts for the mirror.
The cover should just unclip without too much pressure.
There will be some wires coming from the back of the mirror which will have to be removed before removing the mirror. You should see a plastic block which the wires go into, seperate the blocks, remove the bolts and remove the mirror.
I hope this has helped or is reasonably close to what I am telling you

Driver side blowing warm air with ac on , passenger side cold...2007 Impala

The 2 vents on the drivers side have warm air blowing out. ... But a system that is 1/2 pound low will cause the passenger side vents to blow cool or cold air, and the drivers side to be less cool or even warm on this car. There is simply not enough freon capacity in the system to cool the air to the drivers side.

have someone check the driver's side temperature control doors, in behind the radio. there are two push rods attached to a plastic piece. the connector on one or both of these push rods, become unattached. leaving you with cold air. once that temperature door is closed you get hot air. passenger side still mixes, but not drivers. All or none for heat on Driver's side

you will have to inspect the blend doors. These are the ones that control the flow of the air in the AC duct. It is under the dashboard. There might be loose linkages or parts that you may just need fitting or a bad motor for the door.

Hi bensarabia,

This condition is usually an indication that the a/c refrigerant level is low. The driver's side will always get heating and cooling first. I would recommend having the refrigerant level checked and also having it leak tested.

2006 malibu air conditioner blows warm air on driver's side and cold air on passenger's side.

1. If it worked fine recently, I would suspect low r134a charge. 2. If you have dual zone heating/cooling, your mode motor may be out on the driver's side. Switch the temp up an down slowly and check under the dash for the actuators to move. If one side moves but the other does not, you have found your problem.
