Sounds electrical (bad earth, chaffed wire, dirty fuse) but get the garage to put a oil pressure gauge on the car to make sure the oil pressure isn't low.
ABS light will mean brakes still work but not as efficiently so drive with care particularly in the wet.
Lets start with what is the year make and model ?? If the ABS light is on, you would need to have the computer scanned to get the trouble codes so you would know what component to test. The brake warning light could be telling you the hydraulic brakes are low on fluid, or the parking brake is not completely off. You would need to reset the change oil reminder, if it is a red oil light, it could be telling you the oil pressure is low.
The ABS and brake lights on your dash board is cause by low brake
fluid/oil level. When the brake fluid/level of your vehicle is low, the
ABS light and brake light will appear on your dash board, indicating
that it needs to be checked.
So open your bonnet and check the brake fluid/oil and make sure it is
not low. The brake fluid/oil is the first that needs to be checked in a
situation like this.
If the above appears not to be the problem, please let me know.
Its the Auto Braking System.
This is the system that pulses your brake to reduce skidding when braking on gravel, ice, wet pavement...etc.
When this light comes on...more than likely it won't function correctly and your tires will lock up and skid.
Fixing the problem usually requires a brake job / brake replacement all the way around.
Just a idea. If the car is running at idle and the oil light blinks , it usually from low oil pressure. At a idle your seeing the light respond to the revolutions of the engine. ! thing to try is to replace the oil pressure switch on the engine block. And #2, Most causes in a VW is that the vehicle overheated at one time and weekend the oil pump,or massive amount of miles.
